It was a Land Rover 'style' vehicle from the mid 1960's. It was only offered in RWD and had a Skoda engine.

Let me know if you'd like a larger photo.

FOUND IT!

"Trekka"

Found this with the photo:
Quote:
The Trekka was the only mass produced NZ car, it came with Skoda Octavia 1221cc engine and drive line and suspension with a fully welded steel body.
They sold fairly well but with them only being RWD they just couldn't compete with the Land Rover off road, and with the import regulations being relaxed they were too expensive when compared with fresh Japanese imports.
There pretty rare to see on the road anymore, most of them seem to be quietly decomposing in farmers back paddocks

Some pages from an original sales brochure may give some clues:

There are some huge clues in the background of that second pic with the red car.

No not a Benz but from the same part of the world. In fact the car was developed by an insurance dealer in an old spinning mill in Bernbeuren.

I tried everything on google and can't find anytbing. Tried searching for the manufacturer using the badge, but alas nothing. Looks kind of like a Chapparel but wasn't one of those either. I also thought some sort of vw from the badge being a w with a v type shape theough it. I am stumped.
