If history is anything to go by Jim I think your first theory is pure wishlist , and many on here believe it may be true, and your second probably spot on.

Remember guys/gals this is IT. No more FPV's being built after 2014.
Ever. This is my whole reason of creating this thread. Not as a sales pitch. I don't sell cars. There was no internet when the last GTHO's or warning when it was going to end. Take this in your advantage if you are seriously wanting to buy one of the last performance vehicles built in Australia by Ford.

Of course XR8 will be awesome. But it isn't an FPV. When I think performance I think FPV, HSV, M, AMG, RS, etc..

Same performance, different badge, with a new shape, new technology and a lower price point thrown into the bargain. Some people see past a badge to the substance of the car and others don't and place a higer value on a couple of badges. Nobody's completly right or completly wrong on this, just different perspectives on the same situation.

It would be nice to know what this last car is going to have.
Ford are a bunch of **** suckers. Why they have not released the information by now is beyond comprehension, just another failure on their part.

Because they still want to sell GT's to those about to buy? They probably think that selling the 500 will be a given so why not try and move more normal GT's in the meantime?

Mate $64,990 verse $90,000 - $100,000 is a good enough reason to buy a stocko one! Even the bean counters at Ford should know that!

My best guess is to expect differences in easy to change items - decals, paint schemes, wheels, interior and perhaps brakes/suspension. I doubt that we will see any power difference but if so (read 351Kw), will that really cost so much more to effect a huge increase in sale price? I doubt it. Regarding the aforementioned comment regarding releasing information, I think that Polyal is right on the money. I would think that an April release of information would have to be close (I'm working on an expected sale month of June), see post 340 |

Agree. They are still competing with a newer VF and the price has to be realistic for an out going model despite the fact that they are LE and the last of an Australian iconic lineage

You blokes have no clue.
My dealer has 5 confirmed at 100g... He sold Cobras 6 years ago for $89k... Hes laughing all the way to the bank! Dealers will milk this car till the cows come home. Theres no doubt about it. This car will be the dearest GT ever sold new! I was going to buy one, but the price scares me. Ive never spent 100 k on one car, and I think I could find something better for 100k, regardless of the badge.

No idea huh...ok. That dealer is a crook and/or having a lend.
If this GT is RRP from Ford at $100k then I would be completely discusted and saddened. It would not be anything too special if it wasnt for the fact that its the last...which really isnt a big deal. What a dealer thinks its worth is another matter.

RRP wont be 100 kay. RRP will be around the 85k mark. But remember when Cobra came out? RRP on Cobra was like $70k. But dealers were advertising them and selling them for $85 - to $90k. Its nothing to do with Ford but the dealers. Mark my word dealers have the smell for Limited GT's. History shows them what they can and can't do, and this car will be even more special then the last range of sticker packs.

No need to be so agressive about it. Alot of the discussion is speculative at best including my posts on the matter ...... but of course you know more than everyone else, even though you cracked the wobblies a moment ago saying It would be nice to know what this last car is going to have.
Ford are a bunch of **** suckers. Why they have not released the information by now is beyond comprehension, just another failure on their part. but in reality you know and everyone else has no clue?

Well I know what its going to cost to buy one from my local dealer don't I? Which has nothing to do with what Ford will price them at.
Even at 85k (rspec pricing) they will be $20k dearer then a stocko with leather / nav at the moment. 20k is alot of bullion for stripes over the roof and some wider rear rims!

The market will define the 'value' of these cars, not the dealer.

Even though I won't be in the position to buy one, i'm looking forward to it big time. The LE GT that is.
Seems like the old bird has still got some sting in it's tail.

The thought of anyone paying $100k for an FG is just laughable.
Look forward to seeing what they do with it though.

I don't think I could have got her to agree on 85k even if I could afford it just to get some different stripes and wider wheels . I am very happy with one of the last stocko GT's (And so is she ). Will be very interesting to see what Ford/FPV come out with and at what price point for sure. cheers Mike

I suppose there are no prises for guessing the last FPV GT will wear a 351 badge with all the fruit fpv have offered in the past, such as 6/4 brembos, r spec suspension, gt-p seats, all rolled into

What I meant to say before I accidentally sent my last post was I think this is a good way to go out, an fpv with all the fruit they have in their inventory, wearing just the gt badge. I just pray we loose the raccoon eyes, and the hockey stickers at the same time
The r spec IMO had the best sticker combo for the fg shape, but it makes sense that they don't do the c shaped side stickers again. I just hope they lose the raccoon eyes. It would be awesome if they pulled out the super roo decals...... Imagine that. One last farewell to the great Aussie ikon. You will be missed by this black duck, that's for sure. I was told to expect R-Spec pricing and I think the recent GT pricing of around $65K gives them room to have the premium for the last of the line.
Sometimes, when details are not fully known, a customer can place a deposit with an upper limit price. Usually, there's a get-out provision. When I bought the R-Spec the upper limit was $82.5K. I just have the feeling with this one though that once the details do become known there will be a big rush and as demand becomes scarce the prices will go up.

Lots of these Cobra buyers really finished up with egg on their face when trying to re-sell their zero-km Cobra at a premium price. I remember heaps of these zero-km cars for sale over the following year or so, with no buyers. In fact I saw a pair of these (ute and sedan), sell for $54K each about a year later, as the market said what they were worth. It was the dealers who benefited from the hype. Be careful boys, don't speculate on an LE GT. |

This one is not just an LE ( Limited Edition ) it's a LEE ( LAST EDITION EVER )
If it is released with better spec than the previous GT and a little more power - then it will be the most powerful , most desirable and most likely the one that will be worth the most in years to come simply by virtue of the fact that there will be no more succesors. Unlike the COBRA. If you missed out on the COBRA at the time - the punters and speculators could always wait for other models to look out for in FG series. In this case - I dont think this is speculation - Its fact. |

im a motor dealer in Brisbane and I was at a Ford dealer yesterday and made some inquiries about the last GT's. price will be @82,000 couldn't get anything about power output, but rumour is colours will include vermillian fire, track red and yellow glow. I pushed for a yes or no to those colours and couldn't get a yes or no,
