Spoke to Ford Australia this morning and I was advised my order is in the commence build schedule for this month with a planned delivery for early to mid December 2014. I don't know how this has happened, not that I am complaining because I didn't get my order in until 27 October 2014 which appears to be a bit after som of the posts I have read in this forum. So I now have a big smoking coloured Chrissy present coming my way.

to want the colour & trans the dealership is getting in there 1st allocation. My dealership had 4 I could have chosen from but none were to my liking. So mine will be the 1st built in there 2nd allocation. I wonder if dealers even have build codes to order any falcons yet. Easy to say your car is due in, Feb, Mar or April for eg |

Guys that have ordered cars, factory is closed for Christmas, this will be for 4-5 weeks. First allocation is up until the 1st of march, the cars are coming, but they can't just make them appear, depending on the placement of where your dealer had cars coming is what controls your eta. Just get them to keep you posted. Better to be over informed than angry when it doesn't show up.

Does anyone recommend getting the alarm that the dealers try selling you? its an extra $995. apperantly the XR8 does'nt come factory fitted with one. also can anyone confirm if they come with XR floor mats? |

They come with 1 floor mat, the drivers side one. The rest are all an option (3pk).

You can buy an alarm kit from Ford parts and install it yourself, its supposedly easy if you are handy. Otherwise buy a better system aftermarket.

The red is only where you see it on Fords website (around shoulder height. 2 lines of stitching, 1 each side) The rest looks white, |

From what I've read, this has been the case for the FG as well, to the point where people are trying to find the rest of the matching set and struggling to do so.
Everyone seems to have had the dealers throw them in, so it shouldn't be an issue.

I think the drivers mat is included because
ford stopped putting the rubber pad that has been found in cars as long as I can remember in the carpet where your heels sit while in the drivers seat. Without either, I don't think the carpet would last to long |

Yep, I have a SIDO as well, but no delivery dates. Very limited info, other than that. A call to Ford from the dealer revealed an estimated date of late Feb.

Just had a call from McGrath Ford that my new XR8 is there.
Unfortunately I'm in bloody Griffith on business. I won't be back on until Thursday. It still has to be pd'd and have the tint. So I'll pick it up on Monday next week. Just call me big Kev, I'm that excited.

I don't think these XR8s will be for sale long somehow. Those who are waiting run a risk of missing out.
February next year can't come soon enough for me..

Does anyone have any interior shots for the XR8? Is it exactly the same as the FG?

Are you still getting your car from Denmac Brentpan? I doubt they have any brochures.
