I only use bendix pads because from experience I know they will be ok.
I always fit the cheapest chinese tyres to all my cars. The bridgestones that came on the forester were $220 to replace at the time. The chinese were $110. The chinese were quieter, grippier and lasted the same 40k kms. The AU ute rides on $110 chinese tyres. Now my steel tray is 300kg odd so circle work is out of the question, but the old girl pulls up just fine, and as said I drive to the car's capabilities. As for braking I've seen tests where drivers attention under the limit falls so far their reaction time is almost as long as the braking time to rest. Nothing keeps drivers focused on their surroundings like the imminent threat of a ticket. Add to that 30 year of government brainwashing that as long as you are doing 59 nothing bad can happen...but 61 is certain death... |
