Depends on how serious he wants to get, considering the boost level this was done at and being a stock engine i who knows where it'll end.

Pretty damn close to the overall BA record of 9.9? from an XR6T. Would be awesome to see the record go to a Boss powered car, the turbo guys had it all over the Boss engines for quite a while. Well done.

Pursuit Ute 290 BOSS Engine

Thumbs up 9's

You guys,
It's been a gradual thing, 13's, 12's, 11's, 10's and now almost 9's. **** man, you see all of those Capri's and Cortina's belting out 9's and 8's, you're almost there!

Thanks for the comprehensive breakdown on the setup Craig. It gives a realistic expectation on what can be achieved.

I'm curious to see how a Boss 290 engine in a BFI/BFII ZF 6-speed auto will perform at the strip.

Unfortunately it's not all about engine power via the NOS when your going this fast. We know we can make the power but it has to be applied correctly. Chris was telling me he was all over the shop on that run, so we have tyre problems. The BA only lends itself to small rubber under the back, so without fabricating a rear end and tubs to accomodate big tyres we may struggle especially if the racetrack is marginal.

Being late May up there will be a problem unless Russell really prepares the racetrack killer. What is essentially a street car with weight removed and lots of power it's a lot harder to get it down there compared to say a comp car or similar.

Having said that we will give it ago.

Into the 9's might be time to fabricate up a tubbed alloy tray, like what was on the APS XR6T ute a few years back, allowed for the big rubber that will provide the grip

APS have a awesome back end in that ute and it never seen the track, would be good to get hold of that rear end, set-up for 1000 h/P was going to be a TT 6cyl.

Well done Chris and Craig …. I remember you doing 12.1 with me as a passenger in the Blue Ute a few years ago Chris and I thought that was insane. I could only imagine what 10.1 feels like.
