It was in Eureka st on the right heading east. You only see the gate from the road and the factory was behind houses.

I think they used to do genuine engine reco's. A friends father used to work there. I have no idea if it's still open

I remember reading a David Morley column in Motor magazine that stated all Ford factories must be made to the same standard no matter where the location is. That is the reason why Fords factory roofs can withstand one tonne of snow per square metre. lol. Because it snows all the time in Broadies.......................

Ford had a worldwide standard, the Australian plants can support up to 3m of snow on the roof!

Even now Ford still has a worlwide standard to what their facilities are supposed to look like and how they are built. The new Product Engineering Centre in Geelong has to be made of Fire Proof Materials because it's a Ford World Wide Mandated Standard.

On the upside Brisbane can have 2m of hail fall in an hour, so I suppose it might be a good idea

It's on prime land nowadays, you can see the river behind and it has magic ocean views from the front. The big area in front was a holding yard, I remember as a kid driving past it in the 70's and seeing heaps of new Fords lined up there.
