Reading this post has me wondering why I pay so much tax.
Just another ex government "core business" that is now user pays.

Reminds me of telstra - Telecom co that was owned by the people/government, which was then sold to the people 3 times on the ASX
I'm sure I'm getting good value from the $300k politician, I just don't know it

Nothing's changed for as long as I can remember

38 years ago I got hit by a car my parents were sent a bill for $350 for an ambo ride from Castle Hill to Parramatta Hospital (ED wasn't finished being built at westmead then)

My parents were in the ambulance fund (they were contemplating quoting it a few weeks earlier as things were tight)

How? I've used their services a few times, first was $400 odd back in 1996, it went up to $700+ in 2008 or so and most recent a few months ago was $900+. Ambulance cover is certainly worth it.
