Talking Tickford ID plate

Well I have an AU Fairmont series one with a Tickford plate riveted to the top of the passenger guard near the shock tower its definitely a Fairmont not an XR 6/8 but it does have factory dual fuel which has well and truely paid for itself in the 5 years that Ive had the car
thanks John

Smile Tickford ID Plate

G'day Whoosha

Thanks for your help mate. Most appreciated.

What's the story behind those "Tickford OK TO SHIP" stickers/labels ?

Were they applied to the windscreen when the cars left the factory ?

Cheers

They were stuck there for that reason so we new that the QC and final inspection had been done so we could ship them to the dealers :

The XRs and early dual fuel cars (the later were done at dealer ships)then dedicated gas cars were all fitted at Tickford by Tickford also the Fairmonts with body kits and the optioned i6 motors also recieved the Tickford magic as well as all factory sunroofs. We carted the vechicals from the plant to Tickford which was 2 ks down the road then deliverd them on completion to the dealerships thats why a few Fairmonts turn up with the plates . also just as a mater of interest If you purchased your car new you could track your Car via Delay video cam feed through the plant down the production line then to Tickford with pictures able to be down loaded along the way .. I got a folder full here some ware, from a shell to completion
OOps new I for got one more trinket :

whoosha,
is it common for the VIN on the tickford plate to not match the vin on the car?

Thats what mine says too. Also came with the 17s but since they were standard for XR8 they arent a listable "option" as such.

No need for these constant personal attacks Russell. I've really had enough of it. You coming on here and saying that your car is faster than both ours is like me telling everybody you got drunk off 2 VB's at my place. Really not neccesary.

There is a name that I would call you, but it is far too offensive for this site.

And it was you who said that mine is faster, Crouchie has video footage of this.

My AUIII XR-8 has momo steering wheel & gear knob, premium sound, full body kit & premium brakes, I bought it new and as far as I know it was all done at tickford, but it does'nt have a tickford ID plate, was also fitted with herrods S/S extractors and exhaust before purchase, does anyone know why an AUIII with this many options does'nt have an ID plate
