Maybe we all should send an email to the BBC requesting it.
Surely if they get enough requests they'd do it, obviously they have the budget for it.
Apparently when they are here next month they will be doing some filming, not necessarily a whole episode but more likely a largish sort of segment. There is also talk that the captain will be coming down for one of their challenges too, even though he is not going to be at Top Gear live.

Would love to see them pit an F6 against an R8.
I reckon Jezza and Hammond would prefer it over the 8.

Its annoying that SBS cuts a good 10 minutes off each show! I even bought the "U.S Road Trip" dvd, and that was missing parts also!! very disappointing.
How will SBS stuff up the "Vietnam" special at the end of this season?
It runs for 74 minutes, will we miss 24 mins???

So is the 'Vette but we all like that so it's probably the fact that the caddy looks like poo.

Ive driven a normal Caddy CTS (V6..poo) and I actually liked the styling, but if the thing beeped at me one more time I was going to run it into a pole.

There not that bad, an acquired taste perhaps. I was surprised the CTS-V was a manual.

I despise GM, but wow, Corvettes are awesome and that model is out of this world. 640HP god damn.

Id take the Challanger first purely for that waistline. Pity about the auto, but it looks so tough.

Watching the Vette slide through the mountains reminded me of an old NFS game.

I was waiting for the vette to get tail happy on the salt flats at 160+ but alas it didn't happen!

Overall a pretty good episode

How could Hamster not do a burnout in the Challenger. He says its an auto so its harder. Doesn't he know how to apply a bit of brake and throttle at the same time?

I am going to go completely against the trend. The Muscle Cars had me drooling but living in the city I'd take that Abarth 500 as my daily driver.

I loved the reference to the '70s film Vanishing Point. One of my all-time favorites. They drove the updated Challenger along the same lonely straight highway.

It looked like they were going quite fast out along there - is there no limit there, or was it just trick photography, or they weren't concerned with the limit?

I would go the vette, but personally I was disappointed they didn't take the new camaro for a "factual drive" that vs the challenger is begging to be done imho

On the Muscle Car thing ...
I think it a shame the cars were not comparable, and that one US manufacturer got represented twice, and one not at all.

Surely a Mustang GT500KR, and a Viper would have been a better match to the 'vette, and more with the US Muscle theme.

I've got my hand up. I thought the same thing straight away.

Funniest part was when James jumps back in the caddy after the burnout.

Most likely because they are new models, at least the ZR1 and Challenger are only just released, the CTS-V hasn't been on sale long either.

The GT500KR would be considered an older model.

True, but they negleted to mention they aren't exactly in the same Price Range. A fair challenger (pardon the pum) to the Challenger from the GM Stable would be the new Camaro (if it were available at the time. The V-Spec Caddy isn't exactly bargain basement either.

It could compete against the Camero

They did tell us the prices- they paid $51,000 ($10,000 more than list) for the Challenger, the 'Vette was about $100,000 and I can't remember the price of the Saab.....The 'Vettes performance was outstanding even though I dislike the styling- loooks a little too japanese supercar than muscle car for me but i was amazed to see 3 cars (American) that loved corners!
