four holdens and two subarus? what about including an eco ford on that list too?

But Astras. bwahahaha. More incentive for the crims to try and get away now. Although when they do catch them they can say in a really pommy accent "your nicked" lol.

Ok, assuming most Aussie car chases involve a big V8 commodore or falcon. how are they going to throw all they have at them to get them of the road quickly. As they dont have much at all in terms of... everything to throw about.

But they weren't replacing the general patrol cars with them, just the cars that are used as run abouts for office staff, community policing, media, inquiries etc.
Just Read in Saturdays West Australian Newspaper that these cars were going to replace 30% of the Police's Patrol Vehicles.

It also read that officers are not happy with the decision...I would not be either if I was a cop...

Sure they could get the Focus direct from South Africa
Just read in today's West Australian Newspaper that Ford has announced a bold plan to start producing the Focus in Australia.

Another good reason for the WA Police to look into buying Fords... but I bet they wont - Without turning this political I have found that the WA government are initial reactive and always stick with original plans even if something better popps up.

Won't last long, as Redrum said VICPOL used WRX's for a while but they were totally unsuitable. Some Officers were actually having to remove their duty belt just so they could sit in the thing and most others were just plain uncomfortable, few workcover claims due to back pain too IIRC.

Queensland Police trialed a Astra turbo's a few years back, think they ended up keeping 2 as d cars. Used to live next door to a copper who was in the Reddy hoon squad, said the best car Queensland police ever bought was a xr6 turbo ute, nobody has outrun it yet.

Wow some of you are getting so upset about what a cop drives.

Why?

Does it matter? No.

make em walk or catch the bus these decission maker government lay abouts with their fance pool cars, and, ban them from eating anything that promotes farting.
They are already full of hot smelly air.
Police officers do need decent propper cars and not ashtray's
