By the sounds of the latest news there is a oil leak, all that bobbing around in the water 2 nights ago and rubbing the hull on the rocks trying to drag it sideways has done some major damage?? :gren: :gren:

The camera has been zoomed back out again to its normal surf-reporting mode. (Surf's free now though the waves might be a bit flat with that big red breakwater there.)

The camera is zooming out as the ship bow turns across the shot, the camera is in a fixed postion in nobbys beach house, it only pans and zooms. If you look closely you can see the reflection of the window.

By the looks of it i will be eating my hat!! :

just on the news, it has swung around so it is nearly pointing out to sea, BUT it is leaking oil from both sides of the hull.....bummer.

This seems to be history repeating itself. the same method of 'salvage' was used on the Sygna (also a brand spankin' new ship), tow it around 180 degrees, putting as much strain and fatigue on the side of the ship, its entire length working against itself, more chance of wrecking it. You see, the longer it stays there, the more money it costs the company which owns it. The more people and equippment needed to help, the more it costs. The more problems they have, the more it costs to rectify. Everything needs to be paid for by the company which owns the boat, which makes me think that the salvage team would be trying to milk this opportunity for all it is worth. Everything that goes wrong, breaks, hampers efforts or 'poses a threat' all costs time and money. Being a new ship, the value would be enormous, And the company has no choice but to keep writing cheques. Soon enough the cost of the salvage might outweigh the cost of the ship, and that will be the end of it. If the company which owns it refuses to shell out any more money, it'll just stay there. Just like the Sygna. They towed it around sideways, snapped it, towed the front half to get scrapped, and the owners ran out of money, so the contractors towing the back half just cut it loose and ditched on the beach again.
They are only able to work at night... (overtime pay!)
Hourly chopper passes... mmm fuel.
We can't move it on saturday night (the football is on!)
They lost a couple of tow cables... Mmm who couldn't see that one coming? $$$
They got the Pasha facing the right way, (finally) but what's this? an oil spill? how convenient...

I don't think there was much at all ?? There would be some from prop shaft as it would have copped some while being twisted...The props themselves have some damage...

ah right, damn the media beat things out of proportion, the way it was mentioned was that there were gaping holes in the hull that oil was leaking from lol..

Ships of this size can also change the blade pitch on the prop, this is done with hydraulics so the oil could have come from that system also.
