I think many people around the world, and unfortunately many Australians, get a little too wrapped up in sensationalist crap, either by choice or persuasion, causing a great deal of us to only have concern in our own little worlds.

Regardless of the motive behind the Chaser gang, whether it was an attempt at comedy or an attempt at gaining a reaction from the public at large, there are bigger issues in the world to deal with than 6 comedians. If we want something to get outraged about, perhaps we should start with sexual assaults and alcoholism in our own indigenous populations, the civil unrest in East Timor and Burma, The spread of HIV and Africa etc.

Anna coren is satan and those shows are absolute rubbish.

But my fav was bev brock on TT,

she claimed that the chaser is out of ideas and are getting desperate to get attention.

UM, wait a minute. weren't you his ex wife???

Didnt he leave you??? Didnt he leave you for your best friend to be correct???? One word, Polariser!!! He was real good with his money too, wasnt he bev???

The interview she gave completely validated the song.
And the smelly old wench is a hypocrit.

She jumps at every chance to go on tv to talk about him, manages to keep her profile in the media every month with some cheap story exploiting her dead ex husband. (its great how she can exploit him by claiming other ppl are exploiting his memory, its just a brilliant strategy)
I know who's desperately running out of ideas and is trying to shock people to get some attention.
Its you bev, take my advice, let him go. remember, you werent even married when he died, he stooged you, so u dont have to go into bat for him all the time. But she wont, cos she's desperate for media attention.

She's like that psychologist Dr Micheal Car-Greg, He must never treat a patient, he's too busy always on some media outlet pontificating on this that or the other, media whores both of them.

Don bradman was an old grump. The stories of him on the ACB board during the 60's are half the reason world series cricket started.

Stan Zamanec was a down right a hole, and they (the chaser) took it up with him when he was alive even though TT claimed they wouldnt cos they only attack the dead who cant defend themselves.

Steve Price (massive tool) is the definition pot calling the kettle black. That bloke is a downright clown. He's got into so much trouble in the sensationalist media for some of the crud he's said yet he's being all 'the honourable reverend father Steve Price' GET BENT. And today tonight has gone after steve price before too.

Steve irwin did some great stuff, but he was also uber annoying at times. He was marketed strongly for the US market and they loved his over the topness, which didnt go over that well in aus. TT lampooned him for some of his stunts too.

Kerry packer was a nob. A great business man, but he was. TT ran stories on it before he died.

ps, brocky was a legend. Absolutely awesome driver and showman. Just like ben cousins was an awesome footy player. Doesnt make you a top bloke tho.

lol

the only thing funnier than the chaser is people who just dont get it and whinge about them.

the song was 100% spot on to me. several of the people in the song were total tools while alive, yet when they die we all pretend they were something special and watch their funerals live on tv.

Chasers are ok, that song was a bit below the belt.

They are very good at satirical skits and very well thought out political and general stunts and what not, but the song was a fine line of stupidity and comical genius.

I watched it alot more when it was CNNNNN where it was alot more witty, not like now where they look at loopholes and make use of other peoples fame for a cheap laugh.

Just not what it used to be. (and yes i do change the channel).

Your thoughts??
ACA is often; disgusting, tasteless, lacking respect, disgraceful and worse.
I'm staggered you can sit through it and not wish to throw something at the television.
I thought the chaser was funny. I missed ACA tonight, as usual. I am wondering if the next,"what have we learned from current affair this week" on the chaser will have a parody about this.

A parody of a beatup of a parody, oh the irony.

Meh, I've always thought they were fools and I never found them funny. Nothing's changed. But I can't see why people would loose sleep over them. Who cares - it's just a few blokes doing what they have to do to get people to watch them. If you like it great, if not, change the channel.

As they said themselves, their comedy is often dark comedy and not for everyone. That's just the way it is. If you don't like them, don't watch them - easy

I agree - ACA should be taken off the screen, I can't believe anyone would swallow anything they say.

As for the Chaser people need to harden up and grow a sense of humour or do the alternative and watch Idol or some other LAME reality tv show.

Whats more tasteless, the chaser lampooning Steve Irwin or Naomi Robson dressing in khaki gear and doing a story on his death?
Dont watch tabloid TV unless you enjoy getting angry at their stupidity, I don't.
As for the chaser, it's not my style of comedy but in our society they should have the right to lampoon who they want to living, dead or fossilised.

I agree, ACA, TT, Australian Idol, Chaser ... All lame take them off air. I don't see comdey in taking the pi$$ out of other people, good or bad or playing these stupid "practical jokes".

Shows like Scrubs, Comdey Inc. are as much humour I need a day and I hardly watch TV so i'm happy.

I think it shows how twisted our society has become needing to find humour in someone taking the sh!t out of someone else. I actually thought saying stuff about someone else or playing practical jokes on them could be seen as haressment or bullying? So it's acceptable now?

Those that like it, good, I don't mind but the above is my opinion.

Oh and by the way, alot people like watching the Idol series still, so everyone saying cut Idol instead of Chaser is like Idol viewers going cut Chaser instead of Idol. I don't like Chaser or Idol, and I watch nither, I'm over it.

Ok I thought that song they did was hilarious, but it was a bit wrong. And they didn't actually sing anything about Belinda Emmit, although that doesn't make it any better.

Other than that, the episode the other night was pretty funny. If you didn't chuckle just a little, even though it was wrong, then you need to find your sense of humour again.

What was funny was that fatty labour guy, Joe somethings, reply to the Chaser when he was asking him a trivia question at a press conference."Out on day release are ya?"....LOL Now that was funny!

Its funny how everyone gets outraged at the things they do on the show - and then they want to watch the show to see it. They're getting what they want by every getting outraged, they want the attention (more viewers).

SO many 'Chaser Lovers' whinging because poeple are making comments about a show they can tun off or change the channel......

AND then write ....... "ACA & TT is crapola!" Well, turn it off and dont watch it !!!!!!! But how do you all know that ACA & TT is crap? You need to watch it to know?

I dont watch Chasers. Watched it before, laughed a few times, but they have reverted to unfunny bad taste ............

The Chasers havent been funny for a while now. They used to be funny but now I think they are just trying to shock and get the headlines. They were in the papers just last week for teasing disabled and elderly people and filming it. I think they are talented comedians but there form lately is pretty average. They can do much better.

I guess its like this whole thread about someone having a cry about one of their segments.

ACA & TT is crapola, I did watch it saw the rubbish they were peddling and thought here's a show that appeals to the lowest common denominator and didn't watch it again. ACA & TT hate the chaser because they take the of thier hard hitting "journalism".

I'll agree chasers isn't as funny as the older episodes but its still better then the other crap on TV....mind you I dont even watch TV anymore as its gone downhill and there are much better things to do with your life.

Anyone watch Newstopia just after it, they had a pre-Warning note that the program will contain images of John Howard in the same way the ABC had to do the same for showing the deceased Aboriginal images on the Chaser.

ACA used to be actually about Current Affairs.

Now it seems that all it is, is a 30minute b*tch session.

Both ACA and Today Tonight should lift their game. I remember when they actually had stories that interested me. Now they rely on viewers to give them stories.

The only real current affairs show that really hits the nail on the head is 60 Minutes.

All the complaints are from people who didn't watch the show.

Stick to getting the "facts" from current affairs programmes, or put your head between your *** cheeks - same result, your ears will end up full of sh^$

P.S. 60 minutes isn't any better, used to be good now either stories ripped off from overseas or sensationalised stories

Watched the down load before I commented. Crap and tasteless. Funny? Bits were but headline hunting without being clever.

I don't watch them - mainly because alot of the stuff I hear about them doing is pretty dumb (APEC), and the little that I have seen doesn't really do much for me. But that being said - f##k me that was a funny song.

Are you kidding me? It's marginally better at best.

As usual the issue here is that some people can't stand seeing other people have a good time. There's a giant red button on your tv remote that makes bad things on tv go away. People need to stop interfering with others and watching out for the 'morality' of the general public, or anyone other than themselves for that matter.

The late show, d generation and Frontline were way better than the chaser.

Frontline is the best ****take of current affairs out there. Get a copy - classic stuff.
