At the end of the day the concept is nothing we haven't seen before. Its another HSV stretched beyond to the limits that has ignited the Holden faithful.

However isn't it wort mentioning that HSV also own Elfin and recntly released the Walkinshaw special edition Clubman???? So even within their own stable their is a vehicle that flogs it senseless and despite being hand built.... still cheaper.

never has a True road going supercar had 4 doors, a true supercar is a wild and exciting 2 door exotic, things like the Lamborghini Murcielago, Porsche Carerra GT, Mercedes- McLaren SLR, Ferrari Enzo etc. But I suppose it all comes down to Personal opinion.

I would put the HSV W427 In the same category as BMW M5, AM6 E63, Audi RS6. To me Supercar defines the absolute Ultimate in automotive technology and design, not the absolute ultimate in a specific line of cars.

Of course I am just quoting the figures from the census docs, they could be wrong.....
I don't know enough about economics to say who is right or wrong but if you go to the ABS website and click Key National Indicators the most current data (July 2008) states that the average weekly income in Australia is $1132 or $58,864 per annum.

Oh and our population is now 21.4 million.

Yes further investigation has given me several different figures for 2008 and 1970. Like the road toll (or just about anything really), you just use the ones that support your current agenda because any stats that disagree with you are obviously wrong.

Lies, damned lies and statistics.....

Personally, I agree. W427, bloody fast, Super Saloon, Grand Tourer or Just Austrialias fastest production car? But not a Supercar.

Looks like Tander has embarrassed himself by being the first to prang one.

More likely something Skaife would do.

From the article;

"Its 7.0-litre V8 is the biggest engine of any new car and it can reach 100km/h in 4.7 seconds – twice as fast as an average family sedan."

Right. Maybe they should qualify that with "twice as fast as a regular commodore".

I don't think ford do anything in the over 7 second class, and the 50K G6 turbo does it in 5.1 seconds.

Really, Holden are nothing but a marketing company that happens to build cars on the side for what ostensibly is a telemarketing firm.
Holden have a barrage of advertising as well as a bunch of die-hard Bogan fans like Paul Gover who litter Australian car mags with more spin than the NSW state government.
TV ads, radio ads, endorsements, spurious claims like "Holden Go Better" (super car now I mean WTF?); all designed to influence the meek and intellectually bereft who don't know the difference. This is also why there is a preference for Holden’s as the ultimate hoon mobile; evidenced by the amount of forced possessions.

Holden are often negligent in their selling of the vehicles in the way their sales reps deliberately use unconscionable conduct to influence the outcome of a sale. This has been proven in arbitrations and court time and time again. How an 18 year old apprentice on 22K per year and no previous financial history can purchase a 70K HSV is beyond me, and often why that same 18 year old ends up spending another 5 years paying off a car after it has been repossessed. In my formative years at a suburban solicitors office, we used to lodge at least two claims a month for unconscionable conduct at one of Sydney’s biggest Holden dealerships; I think for them it was a game of attrition.

On another blog on this forum there is also a report of the service department at Heartland writing off a Monaro after a service due to illegal and reprehensible activities, I suppose the old slogan rings true; there’s nothing quite like a Holden (sic).
