I've driven quite a few Aristo's and they are a very nice car. I've only been able to drive the non-turbo and the twin-turbo 6's so far but would like to see what the V8 AWD model is like. All 3 variants can be imported into Australia. Different compliance workshops have different evidence packages so some might not be able to do the V8 etc. Companies in Brendale (north of Brisbane) like RCN Compliance Centre & River City Compliance Centre do all 3 of them. We got them complied there when we were buying Aristo's a couple of years ago.
Wholesale, you can usually get into one of these for under $10k. The prices you see in the import yards have a huge mark up. (they have to make money some how I guess )
Most of the time you can get them for even less if you get an importer to import it for you personally.

I've just checked a Japanese Auction site and they're going fairly cheap at the moment. $2k would get u the car & pay the agent fees/transport costs to the port. You then have to pay freight to Oz, then tax/customs duties when it lands. then compliance (which is usually @ $2500) then tyres & rego.
I've seen a few online at J-spec.com.au for @ 10k & under and that's twin-turbo & non-turbo.

The Toyota Chaser/MarkII is a nice car as well. They come in RWD turbo and non-turbo.

One car that I've been driving lately is a 1999+ Nissan Gloria which is 3.0L V6 turbo RWD with a heap of luxury bits in it and they're easily on the road for @ 10k or so. But if ya don't like Nissan's, that's not gonna be any good to ya. :P

Feel free to contact me if you'd like any other info etc.
