I mentioned in an earlier post that I like our local community radio station. My favourite slot is Friday night. During this slot they play a mix of 60s-90s music and 50% of the songs are requests. It is surprising how more interesting this can make a program. You always get some interesting track played and the announcers "chatter" is usually some little titbit about the musician/track being requested.

Totally agree & so would most of those who participated. Thought that "chatter" isn't "mindless", it's informing, interesting & has a point. I think what bugs most people is, that the announcers on the commercial stations use them as a verbal Twitter, & this age group isn't interested in the announcers personal life, & what they had for lunch, or when their last bowel movement was. They want news/information & to just listen to good music.

Just an idea but,,
Turn off your radio for a day or so , see how your brain deals with it then turn it back on and see what happens
