Seen a few adds for the new i40 sedan. Has a diesel that gets 12XXkm to the tank on the freeway...
"Economy that will get you to Melbourne on a single tank......... and halfway back!"

i find it funny that alot of people say the falcon/commoodre is dead and need to be replaced by a fwd american type car and now we are seeing the likes of toyota, hyundai etc making preformance rwd cars that seem to have everyone talking and wanting them.
if people who have owned fords in the family for generations are now buying and loving the new imports its no wonder ford australia is in trouble.i better get back in my time machine now and disapear cause i think im from a different era. |

one thing is for sure the Hyundai company is marketing very hard indeed, the 5 year warranty is hard to ignore, if you where a betting man you have place a bet on them being no. 1 down the track regardless of what their cars are like.

The money that flows through Samsung will rival the economy of many, many countries. Korea will do all they can to knock Japan off their pedestal. Looks like Hyundai may be able to offer that opportunity.

I hope Hyundai makes a 3.8 GTDI (turbo) with around 380 kw / 700 Nm (seeing that their 2.0 GTDI makes 200 kw / 365 Nm)

Main difference between USA and Australian market postion of Hyundai is that the company has manufacturing and design facilties based in the US which makes them local like say Toyota in Australia.
Also we dont get most of their more exciting product so market positioning is a bit lower here. |

My missus drives a 2007 Elantra and is a great little car.
Only time we had a problem with a faulty part in the immobilizer system that was replaced under new car warranty, other than that, the car has never missed a beat. I have no doubt Hyundai be No.1 in the near future. |
