My plan as well - just hoping FPV GT continue on with the 2014 upgrade - have not heard anything definitive one way or the other on this!

All my life Ive wanted to buy a brand new falcon. And now I *may" have only 2 and a half years to do it, so yes I will be. Its only a question of which one.

Me. But it will be in 2015 as the current chariot (2012 FGii G6E EcoLPI) is my ride until May 2015.
If a replacement is available, I will have it. If not, I will have to hang on to my Gas Limo.

I change over on the lease every two years. So, I think I can squeeze two more Australian built Fords in. One will definitely be a new Territory. The other is a maybe: a black V8 Falcon. One of the two will become a keeper (heart says V8 Falcon). The only problem is, I suspect quite a few V8 Falcons will be bought to do nothing else but slip under the tarp in the garages. It will take a good 30 to 40 years for them to become valuable, by which stage I will be either in the grave or way too old to enjoy the drive.

If they slip them under a trap they wont be there in 20-30 years they will be all scratched up and rusted away.

I would put it under a nice soft show car car cover in dry storage.

Might see what is around then and buy one last brand new GT. Hopefully a 50th anniversary model.

Must be GT must be manual

I'm not worried about quality. My FG MKII turbo (had it for 12months now) is screwed together brilliantly, can't fault it. Still as tight as a drum after 20K, every time I climb in it is like the first time. Given this was built during the period where the ford workers were already getting pineapples from Detroit (last 5 years) I have no fears that the guys/gals at Broadmeadows & Geelong won't continue with their great work despite the suits from HQ finally selling them out...via email...on 22nd May 2013.

Anyway, no imported ford for me thanks....not now, only something built in Australia from Ford Australia. I am keeping my '68 XT Falcon, my BA ute, BA XR6T, FG XR6T and will hope to get a FH v8 ute (XR8 please), a FH G6ET.....and if the powerball hits...a FH SC GT.

I am sort of glad now when I went to trade my cars in I got offered nothing for them....so I just ended up keeping them. Didn't think it was such a good plan before, but now I'll be surrounded by falcons forever. Now I wish I never let that old EL Sapphire go.....

I'll be doing everything i can to make my first new car a Falcon, my XR8 isn't going anywhere its worth more to me than anyone would give me for it.

I'd love a final XR8 but its not likely to happen, all going well with the job change i have in progress right now i'll grab one of the final GT's.

While I would love to front up and buy a 2014-16 Falcon, I'm curious to know what lies beyond 2016,
everyone seems convinced that it will be some retrograde FWD or AWD car but maybe the quest for
knowledge should begin in the next 15 months to verify exactly what is being planned after Falcon.

John, you know as well as I do what's in store, and its bugger all. We'll get a V8 Mustang GT if we're lucky and everyone else can go to buggery.

Correct. We will get a FWD (maybe AWD option) car.

There will only be one RWD drive car available and you nailed it above. That will satisfy those after performance in RWD.

The general public don't give 2 hoots about FWD vs RWD. We do. But 'they' don't.

I went to my dealer today to get my car serviced. They are actually positive about the closure. They said now Ford Australia can concentrate on the business instead of the manufacturing. Unbelievable!

Good on you and your co workers, And as you guys would know the auto industry is doing it tuff and has been since the 2008 GFC. All manufacturers are changing there outlook and the model line ups and cutting costs to remain viable. The Falcon and Commodore are just stuck in a bad position when it comes to the overall scheme of things especially when you look at buyers trends towards smaller cars. It doesnt matter how fuel efficent a Falcon is because a small car will always be better due to size and weight. At least you guys can say you were part of one of the most special cars in history. The guys that build the Falcon with pride could not if they tried build the car poorly, they dont have it in them. Theres too much skill involved in building them and every car is like an extension of them and a record of there skill. Keep up the good work guys because the cars you build in the next few years have to last for the rest of time.

I'm planning on buying a new S/C 8 by 2016, probably a GT. Was planning on going back to Uni on a completely different tangent, that's changed. Gonna work my fingers to the bone and make sure I can get one.

Well there you go and once you start you wont stop. Welcome to the Forum Dave. Yes you can stand up and say that you own 1 of the finest cars to ever leave the Ford Australia Factory. And you are part of a small elite group of AU T3 owners, a car which alot of people will never get to experience. I hope you had an enjoyable trip home, Shane

I think from a business stand point most dealers are as they have big investments and want cars, new models that are going to sell.
Speculation and uncertainty that was around wasn't helping, the dealer is another chink in the chain that needs to make money to survive.

Awesome DEALS ON OFFER NOW $39K drive away Falcon Turbo 5 year 200,000 km warranty, low interest rates, we all know the dealers will give a few more dollars off RRP its very good time to buy.
