I don't know if I'd risk it...Poor old things probably only have another fifty years of life left in them...

The Unimogs are not $9 anymore.. Now one of them is above $20.000.
And these are the 'full size truck' Unimog. For private use it would been better with the smaller ones ;) If it had to be big I think I would have more fun to drive around in a retired prime mover, for example this one.. http://www.trucksales.com.au/buy/det...d=1445774D383D |

These are the Unimogs that I think looks cool.. (pre year 1976 )
http://www.bing.com/images/search?q=...hoto&FORM=IGRE Is there any of them in Australia at all? I already own one small vintage Ex-military 4x4 'jeep', a 1966 Volvo L3314, but its in storage in Europe still. Should have imported that here to WA ;) Would be the only one in Australia.. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Volvo_L3314 I have had lots of offroad fun with it in the forests / mountains in Europe, as you would need a modified modern 4x4 to keep up with it. Almost impossible to get permanently bogged with a small light 4wd like that. |
