They'll probably just say it was always going to be a dealer fit accessory as they don't fit them at the factory, thus the car technically isn't ready for delivery until they fit the accessory (which he's signed a contract to purchase). If it was a factory fit item which wasn't fitted at the factory then that's a different story.

BUT...it should have been ready and waiting, in the correct colour, to install on the car. It isn't, and therefore I wouldn't be delaying delivery for them to get their **** together. I also think it looks better without a wing.

It really sounds like they have waited for the car to arrive, before taking any action about the spoiler... poor planning
or Perhaps they thought it would be cancelled. because they do look better without

I'd feel the same way if I'd already waited 6 months, but unfortunately if there isn't a specific delivery timeframe in the contract then it'll be ready when the dealer says it's ready.

We pick up the car today without the spoiler and will wait and see what it looks like when we get there and may cancel it, the car is for my wife so she wanted the spoiler but im not keen on some one getting out the hole punch on our new car, at least at the factory if they stuff up they can get out a new boot lid.

Sounds like a good plan - the rear of the Falcon looks so much better without a spoiler.
Not only is the look cleaner, the lines of the car are enhanced, and the (already high) rear height is visibly reduced without the spoiler.

Hopefully your wife will end up appreciating that.

Every second car since the 90's seems to come with a spoiler (thinking of things like Lancers with steel wheels & unpainted grey bumpers coming out with spoilers fitted), so they're hardly an individual thing.

Nor are they really an aerodynamic aid either, because if they truly worked (i.e. produced substantial downforce), then fuel economy would be adversely affected. Given manufacturers are keen to shave whatever small percent of fuel economy these days, they're hardly going to undo that by tacking something onto the body.

As I mentioned earlier, one of the great things about the G6E is it doesn't have the spoiler - it's much harder thing to remove than to install.

Wished it was a delete option on the XR's, like it now is on current model Subaru WRX's.

Would they not want the car to match the paint colours?

I have a different opinion, I think the spoiler on my XR50 looks great! It also helps with seeing where the boot ends. I do not believe that visibility is reduced by it, in fact it aids in visibility when reversing (I don't have a reverse camera or sensors). I also think the spoiler on the FGX is too low. They should've kept it the same height as the FG ones. So in that regards, whilst I like the spoiler, I don't like the FGX one and would change it for a FG one.

And it's actually the STi that has the spoiler delete option. Why anyone would do that is beyond me as IMO a STi looks craps without the big rear wing. That's half the reason of buying a STi!

It would seem we are polar opposites on the spoiler issue.
Might just be me, getting older.

However, many have commented the G6E is the looker out of the FG-X series, and I too would agree with that sentiment.
As to what part the G6E not having a spoiler plays in that, I'm not sure.

G6et needs a spoiler... Nothing just makes it rather boring from the rear.

At least you two agree on one thing

A lip spoiler would compliment the new FG X G6E/T IMO. I'm not a fan of the XR spoilers on a G6E/T but I guess everyone has differing tastes. To the op, If your missus wants the spoiler, let her have it mate. Happy wife, Happy life.

Picked the car up the sarvo and it looks awesome even without the spoiler, will think about it over the weekend with a few beers and bench race in the shed. Never had a turbo before and they go quiet hard pretty impressed with the overall finish and features of this car and sync 2 is awesome.

Ford Australia and their dealer network are relevant in the market. When driving past a dealer I don't even turn my head any more to see what's in the yard.

I should be able to pick up a 2015 G6E turbo for my wife in 2016 for $20k. ( privately) I'm not interestied in spending any money with Ford Australia for a number of reasons which go beyond turning their back on us

I agree, without the additional body kit the car will look significantly out of balance with nothing but a spoiler sticking up on the boot lid.

In fact it would be a real after thought cheap wannabe look.

The car looks perfect and dignified as is and would be ruined without fitting all the additional side skirts etc. to fatten it up.

At least if it was a lip spoiler it wouldn't be so intrusive and you could get away without needing the rest of the kit.

Dowdsy - how could you possibly let anyone near that boot lid with a power drill!

I would love to own that car - and I'd be leaving it just how the boys and girls at Broadmeadows made it for you.

Enjoy!

Agreed. Can't believe there's no rear lip spoiler for the FGX like there is the FG. The FGX rear end looks horrible without a spoiler.

I dislike the exterior colour, but the colour choice of the interior looks good. Don't spoil it with a rear spoiler. Luxury versions of cars don't deserve a ricey add-on especially when they don't have the sports body kit to match.

Forget the spoiler mate (personal preference), however I can highly recommend fitting Shockworks coilovers to your G6ET, it transformed my car.
