The RHD Taurus went on sale in UK and japan. In japan I also saw the older version but it may not have been RHD.
14 years ago I saw a number of Taurus wagon in use. from what I read at the time ford advertised they spent a crazy amount to design the rear suspension and more per vehicle the build them--they should have waisted that cash on the EA-AU wagon fitting a japan/euro American friendly front end.

Pity they didn't do that in the design studio.

I remember toying with the idea of buying a low km one because of all the gear they had being a ghia. Funnily enough, I didn't mind the look. I mentioned it to the service manager when getting my falcon serviced and he firmly said stick with falcons. So I bought a new AU classic a year or two later.

Styling for the 1996 Taurus (the 1997 was identical) was led by the same bloke who styled the AU Falcon.

I saw a Ghia version last weekend abandoned out the back of the motel we were staying at in Forster. I actually felt sorry for it. It would make a decent first car for my son.
