We've sold our Jimboomba property which is 11 acres, all Horsey stuff. It's a pretty good area, great for Horses. Bit dry though! We're still here renting it back though until we find our new place. The nice Horsey Acreage for 900 grand is around the Gold Coast Hinterland. Suburbs like Wongawallan, Clagriaba, Mt Nathan, Guanaba, etc. Got views of Surfers at night too. Most of em for that money have it all, Stables, Arena, Pool, Tennis Court, etc. As for old mate moving down from up north, try Jimboomba. Got great schools, 45 mins to Bris Airport, 30 mins to Gold Coast, 1 Hour to Lakeside! Cheers, Mike

Had to say my piece... Mount Cotton is a beautiful area but prices around here are well over 500K so not in the right price range.
I would try Karalee, Pine Mountain, Dayboro, Jimboomba, Munruben, Boonah, Tambourine etc. Samford will be over 500K too, unless they just want the land and no house.

What about bottom of the Toowoomba range, nice area Withcott...
Sorry just had to post as we have just had to move because of work transfer and so we have our place up there currently on the market for $355000 negotiable...a bit more than what you have in your post but it is 5 acres and being the bottom of the range we have neighbours who work in Ipswich that drive there and back daily, it takes about the same time on Warrego Highway as to commute through peak hour Brisbane traffic..lol! We lived there for 10 lovely years and I really miss Toowoomba, such a beautiful city (yes I know the water situation not good, but its not so good in Brisbane - anyway our place has a bore so no worries there!) Rates are only $860 per YEAR and there are 2 primary schools within a 5 minute drive! Anyway, if interested URL is below or pm me! Go here and enter property ID 29005. www.owner.com.au/ sorry if I shouldnt have posted this, please remove if that is the case! |

Currumbin, Palm Beach. Those are your best bets, not quite surfers but still good.

I lived in Jimboomba when i was younger (bout 6yrs ago) was a nice little town, only one primary school there. Its not too bad from what i can remember lol. No high school there, i went to high school in Beaudesert. Munruben is a nice growing area nowdays.
Also lived in Toowoomba, nice place, heaps of schools, shops etc close to each other, really nice place to live, even though i was only there for a year :P. But yeah, as people have said anywhere between Brisbane and Toowoomba is a nice area with some decent acreage.

Dont know about moving there but I'm taking the family up there next week.
So if you see a White Barge with an FF sticker on the back window lookout, it'll be me getting lost on the Sunny Coast

around 300K... 5-10 acres... i can only think of one place: LOWOOD. my parents just sold a 3 acre block of land there, but you'll find places with some relatively nice houses for that price. it's a stones throw from Willowbank Raceway and only a few minutes further out than Ipswich off the Warrego Highway.
EDIT: oops, i just read the last few posts RE: date. why was this thread brought back to life??????? |

Listen to all the suggestions and advice that has been posted, and then make a list of the place names, and with the help of whereis.com.au or a localised map, find the locations of those places. This will give you an idea where they are in relation to your needs. After you have done that go to realestate.com.au and check out the properties for sale in those areas. Here is the link to the "rural" side of realestate.com.au so you can just have a breeze through the properties and get an idea of the prices etc. Good luck, and I'm sure you'll find something that has all your requirements. :eclipsee_ http://www.realestate.com.au/cgi-bin...ch?a=bhp&t=rur Oops! also just had a look at the date of the original post..... : |

Has anyone mentioned Pullenvale.......there's some very nice acreage properties out there, not too far from the Brisbane CBD either.
It all depends on how much your family want to spend obviously,.......... Brisbane or South East Qld for that matter is no different from anywhere else, your going to pay a premium for the better areas and obviously less the further you go out from a major central business district. |
