Tools are something you'll keep for longer than any one car I reckon - and when you move out of home you'll need them as you won't be able to just go use the old man's set in the garage when you need to. It's something you should start building up now if you're a try to fix/build stuff yourself.

Throttle in a Bottle. Grab a 50-300 wet system.
But seriously a good socket set should out live all of your cars. You should stay away from cheep shit. If your only looking to spend a small ammount of money (it doesnt grow on trees and dont i know it) Buy the best quality 1/2" rachet and extension bar you can afford. Then buy a few VERY good quality sockets. 10,13,14,17,19mm first. You can allways build onto a tool kit. Much better having a few VERY good pieces than a 206piece set of pal dogfood tins. The 1/2" ratchet i use would be pushing 30yrs old. Works 10x better than a 6month old ratchet i have here as well.
