pseudoephedrine isn't in plain zyrtec as you claim, it is in zyrtec decongestant which has a BRIGHT red stripe on it, and is hard to miss...

if you are going to whinge, get your facts straight, I think most people on here have managed to see the stupidity of this post, but i couldnt hold back on this one
Mate I am not an idiot but have been misinformed.Zyrtec in Australia hasnt got pseudoephedrine. Bislvon sinus does though. You are right that the internet is not a reliable source of info. But at the end of the day when you see someone in your family quite sick and the medical proffession ,including pharmacists dont help in the slightest you have to wonder if they are a reliable source as well. If your attitude is a reflection of the care then we are all in trouble.

OK so why don't we just stop bad mouthing the pharmaceutical industry, which happens to be my profession. These products are not made in a backyard, they go through many, many tests, and it is still always your responsibility to check with them if you're unsure, the pharmacist is not your daddy.

Number one, don't accuse a brand of something without getting your facts straight, there's no pseudoephidrine in Zyrtec, just Zyrtec with decongestant.
Second, these products ALL, and I emphasize this, they ALL have labelling, it is your responsility to read it yourself.
And finally, if you do have any type of serious problem, or are taking other medication, YOU, and no one else, should check if what you are purchasing is alright. The pharmacist doesn't know if there could potentially be a problem if you don't inform them.

Let's just calm down alright.

The internet in the right hands is. There are alot of websites out there that you can obtain good information from, trouble is theirs twice as many bad ones and in your case you where just looking at the wrong country quoting information that didn't pertain to your argument.

The medical proffesion do an excellent job considering the current strain they are under and bottom line, if you're unsure, ask questions. Keep doctors informed of conditions you ail from and medicines you're on so they can make the right choice, and if in doubt, query the pharmacist, they are after all your medicine guru.

Hopefully you are a little more at ease after the discussion here

I have found Zyrtec to be one of the better hayfever medicines for me, the others don't seem to do much at all.

I have also found that taking Echinacea and Garlic tablets works well for minor illnesses with the head (cold, sinus etc.)
