I had one exactly the same as this for a couple of years.

It copped the sort of hiding only an 18 y/o revhead can dish out and came back for more.

I will own a dodge charger or challanger one day as they have been my dream cars since I was a kid .
My next build right now is a 74 Vw beetle Just finshed panel and paint on a Vn Commodore and about to start on a h-series holden ute next week at work .

My goal in life is to return as many cars back to their former glory at least or better .

There's one of these in our town exactly the same , used to belong to a friend "a little old lady" :sm_headba then she sold it to her nephew , and it's still in the same condition , smart kid , he got a good car.

I'd like to restore an old 30's Chrysler or Chev (to original) already have a 59 FC Holden Racer in 70's race spec's.

I wouldn't mind getting an Oldmobile Tornado...

Converting it to RWD (they were FWD V8), and building an awesome 400ci+ Twin Turbo SBC for it, hooking that up to a TH400 and a 9" up the back and off you go.

Its easy to let the mind think outside the limitations of the wallet though :(

I'm a big fan of these also tony. Or a 1967-69 Camaro or Firebird. But what I would really like to do after these two is a 55-57 T-bird, just as a cruiser.

Best advice would be to try something that is relatively common (so that you can still get bits and so that you have a fair choice when buying a shell). You can still stay with Ford power – the Windsor isn’t that big to fit in tight spaces and can make decent power. And some of the cheap Jap imports seem to offer a lot of potential for not much $$$

While I like all the old muscle cars (particularly Hemi Cuda’s and Shelby GT350's) if I had to junk all of my cars and start again I’d do it with something small and light like a clubman or an old single seater. More fun, less dollars great lap times and you can get away with smaller tow cars.

it was on "rides" and I would say no! Jay Leno didn't build one, but he paid a lot of money for some others to do it, so he could look at it and say he had done it. I watched the build on tv and I think he showed up once or twice. He didn't get his hands dirty at all. I think he may have wiped it with a microfibre cloth at one stage!!

Blue Oval Mopar Man that Charger is stunning, do you still see it around finished ?
It is stunning in person and close up , and Its still sitting in a shed being slowly finished ! I have tried to buy it back several times , but the bloke I sold it too wont let it go ! :

But I did have a stroke of fortune today ! While out delivering grey mud, I spied a run down charger peeping out from behind a stack of bricks out the back of the yard ! I asked the customer who owns it and he told me "THEY" were his ! There were 7 of them in various states of disrepair, and said I could have what I need cheap as he just wants to see them put to good use ! He has a couple of very rare examples at home and had collected these ones over the years ! And original E49 he has owned for over 20 years , a Stirling Moss VG coupe ( I have never heard of this one before, But I am far from expert in anything Chrysler) and a couple of other models as well!

So I may just have the chance again to own my dream charger , But this time i will finish it and never sell it !

Yes it shits me the way these rich dip shytz buy whatever they want then proceed to tell you all about them like they realy know what the car is about !
Saw the rides episode where Tim Taylor shows his personel Garage off and there is a hell tough 53 F100 with a blown Chev in it which he cant get to start ( Cause he hasnt got a clue how to start it ) and then tries to show it off out in the street ! Ya can just tell he is filling his jocks with fear as he touches the loud pedal gingerly!

I have often thought about a T-bird for my perants (at their cost of course) as one cool classy 50s street cruiser .We had one in our shop a while back for a respray it was a very cool cruiser .

While I remember For a street gangstar cruisier I like the continetal in the Usa the one with suicide rear doors .There was one at a Exhuast place once when my car was their very gangstar looking car

I have already bought my next toy, a 1968 Morris 1100. Picked her up for a song and plan to put an injected 1.5/6 turbo toyota engine.

Well when I have time that is, but for the moment she is sitting in the parents shed waiting for me......

Forgot a few:

The Windsor in to Mk 1 Mazda MX5’s appeal as do the RX7/LS1 V8 conversions.

The latest Monaros can look great when done well.

Toyota Supra driveline in to a Lexus IS200 has a certain appeal (Cressidas are pretty cheap now).

If you are doing a Datsun Z/V8 conversion watch your weight distribution – try and get it as close to 50/50 as possible (not like the original Chev/Scarab conversions).

Also the Volvo 2 series/Windsor conversions look sleeperish.

Has anyone done a local Focus/V8 conversion?

Ford,
A TC? (similar lines as XY) wagon, paint her in fantasy, and plenty of chrome,

I have an '84 Toyota Supra which I had planned to build as a track/fun car with a twin
turbo 1UZ-FE V8. I'll probably end up selling it though as I have a few too many cars
and want to focus on one maybe 2.
