Not sure if there has been any nz price discussion, but i have seen a quote for 65k nzd for luxury pack fgx xr8. But dealer is talking very limited numbers, and not taking a deposit to secure a car... probably not due here until march/april..

There is no luxury pack for xr8 it comes with everything standard.

Was that a quote in writing? I heard the NZ price for XR8 is $69,995 + ORC, with definitely no discounts.

He buys a new XR6T from the same dealer every 3 years (so has been quoted a bit of a discount) I have suggested to him that the 8 is the way to go next time..

Amazed that hasn't been snapped up Notty...someone here should grab it with both hands!

Interesting twist to our discussion on Price gouging, I know that our Dealership has recently bought 3 second hand GT-F's and every purchase was 6 figures, one significantly more than 100k...so what does that say?

Should we be buying them or be upset by the nasty public gouging us on price LOL.

Like it or not there are dealers that are into price gouging I have found this out 1st hand trying to buy a Ranger Wildtrak
You and the dealer you work for sound like the good guys that have a lot of repeat customers
Same as the dealer I ended up ordering my Wildtrak through went out of he's way to get me one and got it in 3hrs when other dealers were saying I would need to wait 3 months I will go back next year when my wife needs a new car

I'm sure that XR8 in Perth is still for sale at 75k!!

I'm voting emperor as the dark horse color for the FGX.. It's the only one for me that's really starting to look good after a meh at the release!

Still can't believe there is no bright red. Red XR8 with gloss black FPV 5 spokes n black color coding instead of smoke would be somethin special.!!

That couldn't have a dealer delivery fee at all, even without though it's still cheaper.. Government fees would not be changed, I can't see how that could be real.. Maybe it was meant to have a 6 not a 5 at the front and they've just realised lol

If it is legit that price won't be beaten n would have to be a BFYB world record for a performance 4 door sedan.

Or did they punch a quick few thousand on it n hock it as a demo?

Haha, I've a search setup on carsales that emails me whenever an FGX XR8 appears. I nearly fell out of my chair this afternoon when that one appeared. It was 'sold' in less than three hours, according to the follow-up email that I received.

Also worth noting that Trevan Ford had that particular FGX XR8 under their 'user car' section, despite it having only 4km on the listing. I was going to go for a drive up to Lismore if it was still there, so in a way I'm thankful it has disappeared, for whatever reason!

It can be sold for that price, but no dealerships higher management would let a car like that go for that low of a price, on average a falcon costs my dealership $500 to sell to a customer, xr8's will bring this average back up.

Speaking of colours, I have handed over Silver XR8and Kinetic XR8, Silver looked better, even though Kinetic is my GT-F colour and colour of choice...however, we handed over an XR6 Turbo yesterday in Vanish Blue and wow does that work on FG-X!

Vanish has been a nothing colour for me to date but mate, it looked absolutely freakin' awesome!

2nd allocation cars so none of them
will be Vanish & I would say no 2015
model would be also.

One of my coming cars is vanish manual, feb build.not sure if they'll offer it for 2nd allocation...

I have received a email late last night from my qld ford dealer that my wife's vanish xr8 auto has arrived build date 11/14 compliance 12/14 I ordered the car in October. We live in port macquarie nsw the local dealer at the time told me that they can not get any. The dealer had a FGX party late last year they still did not have the xr8 allocated for them at the time .?why is vanish colour not being made any Moore

No reason was given, things progress, the supplier might not be continuing with the colour or ford may be changing the colours available, it's just a progression.

Your car should have the same built and complied date as its done on the same day as its built here in Australia.??

So when will we find out if there's new colours available? Id be having second thoughts if there's a bright red or octane on offer..

Keen to find out, FGX could do with a few in your face colours.

No nothing about this yet either, they typically do a bulletin to all dealers with all the info they are giving out as they are giving it out, so at the same time they give it to the reporters they give it to us. I agree about colours, needs a bright red, a green or two, a purple, and an orange.

How is it or why would they change a colour a month after release maybe they had 50ltr and didn't want to waste it (joking)

Vanish has been in production for a few years now, originally it was a replacement for Sensation.

Similar thing happed with the BA in 2002/2003 with Barossa Red, Congo Green and Narooma Blue all being replaced in early 2003 having been available on Falcons for a few years before the BA.
