I haven't finished the drainage around mine since it was built, and so far the high tide marker around my slab is 3/4" from going over.......

The dam has nearly, or will crack 3 metres over the spillway tonight too.

i dont think the water will get in my shed... i hope.
would have to rise about another 3 inchs and it runs off down the padock at this level now.

had another 50mm today and its raining pretty well again now.

i had to call at the old rental house i just moved out of today to pick up some stuff and the big macca nut tree in the backyard has decided to lay down. ..too heavy + too wet.

i will be coming into town wednesday , might have to check out the dam. must be nearly up in the office at the boat ramp

We had an act of stupidity last night, we were crossing a flooded section of road that is passable in the centre of the road. All motorists know this and that is why cars stop and wait. Anyway we are half way across in the ambulance and this moron comes flying past us at about 60 on our left side, WTF. Anyway we had the last laugh as we passed him further up the road, car dead in a deeper flooded section. He now has a stuffed car and he will also cop a visit from the police once we pass on his details and a signed statement from both officers on board the ambulance. His passing us and creating the bow wave may have caused enough to swamp the ambulance engine.

We were over the south of logan near Bega road in a mates jacked Ftruck running down a flooded back road when a young thing in a small japper over took us , water was about 6" deep except for the pothole she fell into , and then got abusive because we wouldn't just pull her out and get wet doing so

Getting back here across the back of Logan Village was a trial but we had an big stihl and a rope , that heavy wind that came through mid arvo tilted a lot of fresh firewood , if this weather keeps up I might have to drive out the Bronco a bit earlier than intended
Now tell me how far under that silver service went pls

I'm up in rocky at the moment, river is getting close to 8m and a few roads are blocked off. There is a rain band stretching from bundy to bowen, so the levels could be higher come morning!

Left Goondiwindi at 12.30pm yesterday only to get to Milmerran being filled to the brim by the Condamine. When we left, all signs indicated the highways being open, so heading back to gundy was a 3.5 hour waste of time. Ended up getting to Brisbane via the Bruxner through Yetman, Tenterfield, Casino then up from Ballina. Got home at 11.45pm last night, so a near on 12 hour trip for something that should have taken three and a half. Such is life, ended up doing near on 1000km's.

Such is life!

that sucks. I was in Warwick for Xmas, left around 7 am Monday. All roads were okay then, bit of water along the flats between 8mile and Maryvale.

Glad i left when I did, looked at some pics on the local papers website, main road out was closed, one bridge in town which the water still have between 1.5 - 2 mtrs to rise before going over it, was completely over. Looks like they cops a hammering last night.

My family up in Rocky were saying it was getting bad up there, they're warning people to be prepared for Rocky to be cut off for up to 10 days with all the water coming through from the Dawson, Nogoa and Mackenzie rivers.

Yeah apparently the end of the week should see higher flood waters over 8m, the Bruce highway could get cut near the yeppon roundabout.

Most of the town is ok the problem will be roads blocking access or the airport getting flooded. Not much sun on the horizon!

we come back to mackay yesterday from moranbah and 30 mile was flowing well but still low enough to get through, stuck up the **** of a 4WD but the water still came half way up the bonnet and there were smaller cars than ours going through, SES were there so they must of thought it was safe anough, emerald is going to cop it bad, glad we done a runner when we did

Keep those fingers crossed Rocky's been very lucky so far lets hope it's luck stays. I think just stock up on the tinned stuff and uht milk and a few six packs and wait it out. I do feel it for travellers cut off there though. Will be the irresistible force meets the immovable object.

I've got my dad and a few sisters up there they're stocked up and prepared to wait it out.

Looks like Bundy's copping it as well poor buggers.

Tell me about it.. Luckily enough I didnt go to warwick this christmas.. but im going out there Friday to look at all the damage on some of our properties.

If anyone sees 2 trailco irregators flowing in a creek let me know, we are missing two lol

Hi I am at Sandy Hook Bundaberg - the ski club (two story building) is completely under water - we have around 20-25 ft of water over the road - my boys have had to go into town (on foot) to get food & a generator - no power / no running water / no sewerage - people will do what they have to to survive & that's what we are faced with - SES was supposed to deliver supplies yesterday arvo - but didn't turn up - luckily people are running people where they can in boats & cars otherwise we would be up s%&* creek without a paddle - luckier than some though - still have around 5 meters between us & the house - some people have lost yachts & business's - just completely washed away - North Bundy is cut off ATM - have a good one hey..

I just seen the train bridge pic wow the Fitzroy is certainly one massive ocean at the moment. (for those not familiar, that particular bridge is huge) I just cannot believe it.

We think we have had rain in Brisvegas we have had nothing compared to the loss some our people have had up north and west.

Some peoples stories bring tears to your eyes, some people just only able to watch as floods wash everything away you own and not even leave you the shirt on your back. The older people are the ones I feel it for it's not as if they can just rebuild again. A lot of these people are not insured either.

Might be worth passing the hat around after the rivers go down and we see how big the damage is.

There are dozens of communities which have all gone underwater very quickly in the past few days. From Rockhamton all the way to Dalby and Condomine. Pretty sad to see the loss, a lot of people have simply lost everything.

A helicopter has crashed in the central Queensland town of Emerald as residents there continue to evacuate ahead of an expected flood peak tonight.

About 700 residents have already been evacuated from the central Queensland town and many more are expected to seek refuge tonight.

It is understood the chopper lost control and flipped on its side shortly after taking off from the local race course.

The pilot and a young boy were on board and suffered minor injuries.

No other details have been confirmed at this stage.

Army Blackhawks have joined the evacuation operation, ferrying patients out of Emerald Hospital.

The Nogoa River at Emerald has reached 15.8 metres - less than half a metre from the expected peak which authorities now expect around midnight.

The Town Hall evacuation centre has reached capacity at 300 people and another evacuation centre is expected to be opened soon.

Predicted higher now. Record height above both 91 and 54 floods. Think we will be cut of here in rocky for longer than 10days. Parents are stuck the otherside at gracemere, with one small shop for the many thousands now living out there.

They now say 9m sunday and 9.4-9.5 next tuesday. My mate is bring his premeir up soon to put in my shed. Hopefully we should be ok with less than half a km out of the 9.5 flood zone.

Actually wish they would give a 10-10.5m flood prediction zone so we know what to expect if it goes bad.

Funny you say that, heard from a bloke today the council think it may be closer to 10.5m, but are saying 9.5 at the moment to stop panic too early.

Looking at where the water is now at 8.2, another 2m higher will mean massive areas of the town will be under. The river looks like one massive rapid, and to think that water from the north last week hasn't even hit yet!

Yer well if it dies go to 10.5 and there not telling us I will be one angry and ****ed of man. $40000plus XY sitting in my shed which is up on stands while I'm working on it (no shifter etc at the moment) goes under will not be happy. Yet Don't want to panic because they say 9.4m max. Also hard to tell and have no idea at what height we might be in trouble. I'd reckon 10.5 is getting up there.
