Congrats to the Geelong footy club on the win though, my nan is an avid supporter, and they are sponsered by none other then the blue oval, once again well done.

Yes they did play better in the last quarter which won them the game, but before that they certainly didnt. Silly Saints should have been 3-4 goals more infront at half time with those easy shots missed and inside 50's 42 to 24, The ball doesnt get there by itself.

Carn the Cats!

Had tears of joy and was screaming by the end, they deserved it all. However, full credit to the Saints for a well played game.

was a great game.

Saints would have won if they hadn't muffed so many chances early on, but it was great to see 2 teams just grind it out

for those who say that geelong 'deserve' it, why do you say that. i find it a odd comment to make considering saints finished on top of the home and away season and played better footy for 3/4. some could argue they 'deserved' it but didn't play well enough on the day unfortunately.

geelong are being touted as one of the greatest sides ever however only less than 5yrs ago a team played in their 4th consecutive GF having won the previous 3. geelong may have a better win/loss record but what do we judge sides on? premierships or win/loss ratio? can't have it both ways can we? port adelaide finished top 3 years in a row and yet they don't get viewed as a top side.

well done to geelong on the win but the saints certainly kept them in the game with the missed opportunities.

Saints were very unlucky. Was a bit of an anti climax at the end. Was anyone going for Geelong apart form the supporters?

Geelong basically did what the hawks did last year- they weren't the best all season but came good when it counted.

The umpiring was shocking, for both teams. Holding the ball decisions seemed to change all game. Chapman had a cracker- I reckon he does more good than Ablett

Agree, Geelong won and good on them but its very arrogant to say "we/they deserved it" IMO...Anyone who says that obviously doesnt get out much beyond their regular routine. If we played an EPL style system the best team would have actually won but we dont and its a cruel world and the best can very easily get beat...Infact I have to feel for the Saints big time they had a far bettr year than Geelong or any other team (including mine) : and got no silverwhere. No brownlow, no Cup, no Norm Smith (apparently Gram Equalled Chappy on 9 votes but because they didnt win they woulnt give it to him)..They were almost robbed if you look at it like that

I think St Kilda did what Geelong did in last years Grand Final. Missed to many good oportunities and were made to pay dearly................

they were probably lucky to get there. just the week before in the closing minutes of the 2nd quarter, it was claimed a potential goal was touched on the line for their opposition. in the opening seconds of the 3rd quarter, they received a dubious free kick among others. that is a turn around of 11 points and yet they won by 7

however, we did not deserve to win that game because of our attrocious kicking for goal in the first quarter and a half. if we were good enough, we would have had 6.3 at least instead of 2.6 and one out on the full. and sure enough if st kilda had 14 goals 9 yesterday, they would probably have won. geelong deserved it because they won

last year i believe geelong threw it away. that does not mean hawthorn did not deserve it though. this year geelong have been in much better form over the last 6 games than st kilda, so i do not understand why they may not have deserved it

and overall, there are not too many teams that have 2 minor premierships and 2 actual premerships over three years (at least one trophy in each), so i would say they are one of the best sides. certainly carlton's 3 in a row in the early 1900's and collingwood's 4 in the 20's, melbourne's run in the 50's, hawthorn's in the 80's and brisbane's recently are better at present, but not many more. port and essendon deserve great credit for their 3 minor premierships in a row, but in reality - it is only the grand final that counts

GO THE CATTERS!

I do feel for the Saints. They had happen to them what Geelong had last year. Best team all year, but on the big dance wasted opportunities in front of goal.
there was some shocking umpiring decisions both ways. Tom Hawkins kick hit the post and that was paid a goal. David wojcinscis holding the ball decision was the biggest crock of you know what I've ever seen.

Overall it was a great match (from what I can remember). I will be getting the DVD to live the moment again. All I can say to the Saints and their fans is bad luck, chin up and maybe next year you can have another assult at the cup.

Pulled up beautifully man! I downed half a box of superdrys before the final siren then headed out to the festivities aftr that. Drank steadily for the rest of the night but after losing all my mates and the street party dying down I headed home about 2am and had an early one. The trick I've found is to have them early, and taper off! If they win next year maybe I won't be such a soft b@$t@rd and party a bit harder next year LOL!

They were almost robbed if you look at it like that is they, the Saints. You know more than 1?? If it meant 1 it would be he or she or him or her not THEY.

Having said that if you tie in the brownlow theres no countback 2 medals are awarded perhaps should be the same here. Who the hell would have voted for Millburn he nearly cost Geelong the game arguing with the umpires
