So why didn't Jesus tell his drinking buddies that the world was round? He built the thing.

Would have saved the Church years of embarrasment!

Fiction? Can you prove they aren't real? I know I can't prove they are real although I'd like to think they are. After all, Given the size of the universe it would be foolish and narrow minded for one to think were are the only life forms.

Ok, fun is fun but the T&C prohibits religious threads and while there is a lot of shades of grey if they start to get to dark then the way the truth and the light of the ban stick may illuminate the path....

Given how big space is, we can't be the only poor bastards kicking around.

Hopefully with technology advances in my life time we can explore the universe a bit more.

I agree, however I raised the topic with an astro physicist once, who put it another way - he said that if you take into account how old the universe is (approx 13.7 billion years) and how long actual life has been on Earth (approx 2 billion years) that the likelihood of life existing at the same time as is is quite slim. Not saying that there hasn't even been anything else out there, more that they probably died out billions of years ago, or probably only exist now as a green slime or something.

Food for thought I guess.

EDIT -

And if there is life out there, what is the likelihood that they have advanced far enough to have mastered light speed travel (which is what would be needed to visit Earth). They are probably just hanging out on Rigel 7 posting on their UFO forums asking the exact same questions about us!

Would have been genuinely interesting to be living in the area in the 60-80's...Space race, stealth technologies etc...

Imagine seeing an A12 for the first time...even some of the other bases and manufactures test fields would have been a other-worldly experience...

The woman with the phone has recently been explained. The grand daughter of the lady on phone has said that GE wire testing out wireless phones, and gave them to some of their employees to test out.

In 1990 I was doing some work on Kadena Airbase in Okinawa and have recently found out that I missed the final flights of the blackbird from Kadena by a few weeks. That would have been quite a sight.
