Heavy Metal.... Now we're talkin.
My favourites would have to be:
Black Label Society - Bleed for me. Black Sabbath - Paranoid. Slayer - Seasons in the abyss. Ozzy Osbourne - Don't blame me, Thunder underground, Bark at the moon.
Running Wild - Agents of black. Morgana Lefay - Rooms of sleep. The Haunted - Dead on arrival. Metallica - Ride the lightning, For whom the bell tolls, Master of puppets.
Venom - At war with satan.
I could go on for hours but will limit it to what I have put down on here.

Argh, you guys bring up a good topic and I have far too many I like.

Metallica - Fuel (bad idea when driving), Enter Sandman, Memory Remains, Unforgiven 1 & 2, could rattle of heaps of this...
Disturbed - Liberate, Decadence, Stricken, The Game
Rammstein - Pretty much their entire Rosenrot album
KISS - God of Thunder

Just some of my favourites...

Bleeding through... Wake of orion, I dream of july, Savior/Saint/Salvation...
Fear Factory - Edgecrusher
Captain Cleanoff - ADIDAS... ok, not really metal...

hmmm... not really much of a metal head to be honest. So long as its hard and fast - it's good.

More metal than some of the stuff that tries to pass itself off as metal these though! I never got into the whole glam thing, but I did like Skid Row.

Where to start-
Love Rammstein, Metallica, Tool, suprised no one has mentioned slipknot yet.
Others : Fear Factory, Pantera White Zombie, Rob Zombie suprised no one has mentioned slipknot yet - didn't mind their fist album.

Also does Rage against the machine count?

I think some people have their heavy metal mixed up with their heavy rock/screamo/death/crap metal. It's really quite sad/amusing :S
