2001 AU2 XR6 - bought 14 months ago with 55,000k's, now has 65,000.

Apart from changing the battery and spark plugs/leads, she's perfect.

August 02 XR8, bought 3 weeks ago with 67,***km, just clicked over 70,000 today.

Was a weekend car so got thrashed a bit- clutch and 2nd synchro not great.
Backlash
Boot strut mount rust- going out to fish oil it right now!
Cruise control -ve button need to press quite hard
Needs new leads

Dash does this strange thing where the tacho ticks like the second hand of a clock, rather than moving smoothly as it should. Doesn't always happen- mostly at higher revs.

Absolutely beautiful car- such a pleasure to drive.

Mine does this too to the tacho - usually only just after the car is started and cold... wierd, though.

2002 AU T3 38,000km no problems drives and goes like a new car should.
It is a sunny day cruise car and I intend to have it for many years to come so plenty of time to clock up the K's. New battery, and tyres otherwise its as it left Ford.

2001 AUII 146,000kms. Purchased Aug 08 with 112,000kms. Daily drive and family getaway.
Replaced ;
Power Steering Hose
Surprise surprise replaced alternator.
New Radiator (adrad copper & brass)
New stereo, old one decided when it would play cd's & I am the boss.

Overall a very good straight clean tidy car with no performance mods. Still has the Michelin MX1's from when I bought it. Brake discs are a bit warped but pads are still at about 60% so that can wait. Was always a holden person but am sold on the AUII......just a pleasure to get into and drive everyday.

I'd be hard pushed trying to find another car that's had more love thrown at it since leaving the maternity

02 AU3 SR bought in Feb 08 with 30,000km on it. Daily driver that has just ticked over at 67,500km. Still feels like new. Was floored when I checked the logbook and found that it took the previous owner 2 years to do nearly 8,000km!!!

Absolutely perfect (touch wood) and apart from a new battery and the usual consumables/fluids etc I have only replaced parts on her for the purposes of modding.

AU 1999 forte wagon. Tickford dual fuel.
Ex Premier taxi, 1,240,000 odd clicks.
New hose pack, heater tap, (no heater core flow, hose eventually srung a leak from blockage of rust mud that also blocked LPG converter water lines)
Reco Steering rack, (main shaft seal went)
Series 2 lower arms/spindles/swaybar/SB mounts/BF xr6 slotted rotors/callipers (Kept chewing rotors),
New bearings all wheels, (just so i didnt have to do it later, slight noise from rear right)
Replaced interior to series 1 xr6 seats/ four door power windows/carpet/cargo carpet/dash. (grey inyl and manual window didnt do it for me and got the loat minus motors/regs for $50 in prime condition)
Needs a new engine, sump gasket leaking, and bottom end making a knocking noise on low revs, but it still goes good.
Have put 40,000 on it in 18 months.

Just hit 170xxx in my AU 1998 fairmont ghia,

vct motor still hauls like buggery, however drinks like a fish.

Had it just under a year, when I got it the odometer was sitting on 152xxx k's

Replaced rear hub and axle and abs module, apart from that just regular service stuff.

brought mine 3 years ago, with 86,000km's on the clock. now at 171,000 daily driver/weekend cruiser.

broken engine mount bolts, one gearbox, diff is clunky, feels abit loose with hard gear changes, replaced the suspension at around 130,000.

end of the day it gets driven it is what it was meant for and has given me alot of good times over the years. and i expect another few good years out of it.

and i would still jump in it now and drive it anywhere as it is.

series 2 wagon old motor had 210 on it, new motor has 96.

Did the front main seal on the old motor i think thats cos it sat in water for a couple of days tho.
Knocking noise in the front poss ball joint ect, and power steer rack also has a pop/ clunk sound when turning the wheel when stopped in some position.
apart from that just the usual service and maintanence items

I have a series 1 XR6, bought it 6 years ago with 88,000km and now has 156,000km. At 88,000km I had the bonnet and bumper painted because of stone chips and replaced the exhaust, no other problems.
I also have a series 3 wagon, bought it a year and a half ago with 192,000km, now has 206,000km but currently needs front hub bearings.
