Haha yeah i think i have it fairly bad too, my mods arent like anyone else's and some people look as i go past haha. It'll look even more different after my trip to WA, more mods will happen in that trip. Maybe i do have it as bad?

That Forte looks allright for a project base, almost a shame to pull the interior, looks pretty clean.

yeah i don't want to destroy it either

the only things ill do to the interior are
1 change the dash
2 change the rear doors to power windows
3 get the rear seat recovered
4 add wood spears to the doors
5 and a few wiring changes ie foot well lighting

the rest stays the same i aint touching that roof liner shes in mikey mouse condition i want to keep the seats and the carpet bec its better then the fairmont only thing is i might have to get the inserts in the door liners to match

oh and those gt strips on the redneck dif change will be copied on to the forte once i paint it white

the last time i took it out and got it all bolted up in the white forte....
before i found it had rust !!!! bad in the rear support bar

when i took it out the dick head nab droped my dash on the gear shift and put three cuts into the top edge none to say the least i near killed him damn ****** !!!

i suppose ya could always come help me or i could let you do the job
id let someone else do it anyday .........

yeah as far as i know this au forte has no rust i've looked every were
floor pans, guards, wheel archs, even the front gutters and under the beeding of the guard have no rust and no built up of dirt

still yet to rip its interior out to find out if its got any on the inside

haven't poped the tailight to look along the rear bar yet just hope and pray there isnt any or if there is i am just gunna have to cut and weld this time.

getting another car with that many kms is not gunna happen anytime soon thats for sure.....

yes indeed the dash is a two man operation and not somthing that should be taken lightly if it wasn't for the damn wood spear on the dash i wouldn't do it either lol

its been sitting in my yard for over 2 years i'm gunna get to it one day i swear it was licanced at one point untill i forgot the rego and ahh kinda let it slip and got me a $100 fine for not handing the plates back

sadly re doing the rego here ain't the same

here ya got two options licence ya car for either 6 moths or 12 months after your licance expires you must either pay the licence fee with in 3 months of expiry.
after that date if ya don't you got to hand the plates back if you forget you get a $100 fine depending on the value of the car

how ever can drive your car 2 weeks after the licence due date then you can't drive it from then on

so sadly once it's all cleaned up and fixed up its back over the pits !!! once its licanced i won't have to do another roadworthy unless i sell it and even then it's not compulsory

as for cars mate i get em everywere quokka ( the local cars guide paper )

5 x ford couriers 1x wreck 1x 1991 2x 1996 1x 1997 1x 2005 with 69,590kms after market alarm fire claimed it plan to rebuilt it to
1 toyota celica again not mine and its a rust bucket

oh and a 15 ft half cab boat that i've draged across 3 states and still ain't fixed up lol.
and my car trailer which i paid $2000 for and will never sell lol

lol if i could aford to employ ya to get some of my work done id offer but trouble is with the collection and regos its keeping me broke as a fishes back side
seems every 6 months is around $1800 for rego just when ya save up for one part to fix one car a rego pops up and today was a bad example of that one.

as far as job trade over here not much on offer unless ya like mine work
builders are in big demand and a few other fields but nothing really to write home about lol


the ford explorers are the worst !!!! don't buy one unless ya want a world of head acke

the auto one i got was pumping oil into the radiator turns out the heads were eaten out new heads from amcap $7200 and that was for bare heads no cams no valves nothing !! mind you the car is worth $5500
i found a set local for $300 that were in good shape and then found out the hard way the cams have no timing marks and the only way to set em

SPECIAL TOOL THAT COST $400 not happy !!!!!!!!!!!! so its been sitting in my yard for 3 years not bad for a car that cost me $900 may have been a cheap car but it's doing my head in

OHHH AND the only way to replace the heads and timing gear is to pull the motor out not fun !!!

i must admit with the amount of au falcons i'm buying up there won't be any left for people to use for parts or mods

didn't know they did a orange lense one untill ya asked about it when i saw one i ponced on it never seen em around much

they must be rare as heck now that i gone and checked those ones out i might have to go look at the ones i got in the spare room buggered if i remember what they are
although i think they white

ahh even if they white there is one easy solution orange led bulbs on ebay about $9 a bulb a little expensive but won't fade like the painted globes do

Yeah the Fairmont Series II and III had the orange lenses i beleive. Only them.
They arent terribley common nuh.

umm really well that fairmont i bought today was a series 2 2000 model and its white umm maybe it was just the ghia models that had em if thats the case the even more rare here

i yet to see a ghia here yet lol

differant i like lol tonight i was serching and found a few more mods i am willing to try

one mod i found tonight was multi function led lights on door handles rig up one set of wires the dome light so when ya push the button the handle lights up and the other set of wires to it wired to the blinkers so ya got blinkers on ya door handles
