I suspect some of the "I ONLY TALK ABOUT FORDS" crowd would have a bit more credibility if their history on the forum did not contain so many posts about holdens and other makes or TV shows, music and movies that have nothing to do with Fords or even cars whatsoever.

Compared to some (specific brand) sites, those who've got dedicated sections on all sorts of cars, AFF is poor with respects to talking about other than Ford's cars. I would say it's very much focused on Fords and this is why I'm here. But being an enthusiast it doesn't mean I wouldn't back a new section dedicated for every other make.

Mainly here cause I bought a XR4, and now a XR6T. I was a Holden man but now I'm more of a car man. I don't see the point of sticking to a brand if better options are available. Holden had nothing to compete with the XR4, and the BF got the nod over a VZ SS because of a better drivetrain (4sp auto vs 6sp) and VE SS because the resale was much worse making it much better value
Personally I view these forums similar to StreetCommodores - lot of reasonable, well balanced guys against the few nongs who post rubbish like "mate it's a Commodore, there's your problem right there. Falcon's are da bestest" Arguably I find LS1.com.au the best of the lot, probably because there's a lot more older guys on there. |

It's been a long time since I've posted here, but here it goes.
Anyone who knows me knows I love my Holdens. Anyone remember the amount of controversay my VL brought when I posted it a couple of years ago? I originally joined here to learn more about Fords, despite my first car being a Cortina. My first preference is Holden, but honestly I've seen some Fords that I would get rid of my VL for easily. I just look at cars, as exactly that, cars. Brand badge isn't a priority to me these days. I support Holden in the V8s, but for road cars, as long as it's decent I don't care what badge it wears. |
