The magazine doesn't even own them or have any rights to them. They were used at my discretion under a licence agreement setup by me, the owner and the magazine... Also all material in the magazine is protected by copyright and cannot be used without consent. Its stated in every issue usually on page 9...

Please let's not derail the thread further over copyright infringements.
Ps: It is a sad state of affairs where trilateral licence agreements are drafted over a car. |

A bit off topic (ie not a Phase IV), but when I was a young fella doing my apprenticeship a bloke I worked with owned a Phase 2. One afternoon as he was leaving work he quietly wound first gear out then dropped it into second and let fly, the Falcon squatted down in the rear and crabwalked sideways up the road leaving behind a trail of white smoke. To this day, that image embodies what is the "Falcon GT" heritage. No car since has impressed me as much as that car did in 1979.

A brother of a friend of mine had an XY gt in the early seventies. A comment that he made to me about his XY was that has always stuck in my mind was - "when a car in front sees you coming in the rear mirror they just move to the left and let you pass". He never made the same comment about his monaro or sandman v8 ute. That sums up the image and reverence the old gt muscle cars had (and still do). Even today I will always look at old gt falcons when you see one which is rarer and rarer. Even my wife will point one out if she sees it. My favourite is probably the XAs.

Yeah, but they're old and slow - they'll never catch on. Now an Aurion - there's a classic, start buying 'em up now.

There's nothing that can match the slight noise you get from 6 mild cylinders arranged in a V. Oh wait.

Well I had my Phase three with rev limiter disconnected nudging 150-155 mph (closed highway) a few years ago and it was white knuckle stuff let me tell you but in the same vane it was very stable and still had a little more. My mate who was in his phase 2 a few miles up the road said it was like a freight train comin up in his rear vision mirror when i went past Those were the days. One thing though was that it felt more stable over 120 km/h. it would suck down on the highway something most of the new cars I have owned don't repeat. It was also fun running it against my BA's. I have also driven XA GT's as well but have not experienced that level of sure footedness on the highway that the hoey provided. The front end would lighten up under speed.
