Will be changing the front and rear rotors and pads on my bro's BAII XR6T in the next couple of weeks.
Was after a price for front and rear RDA dimpled/slotted rotors with either QFM HPX or Remsa pads (or any other similarly priced good pads you'd recommend?)
How much more would the set cost if upgrading to the DBA T2 rotors?
Would be able to come pick them up so wouldn't require postage.

Cheers,
Chris

Hi Chris with the RDA rotors the cost would be about $450 mark and with the DBA T2 about the $560 mark thanks mate.

Hello Matt, you legend, in regards to Hawk brand disc pads, a while ago you sold me Hawk Performance Ceramic pads for the 6 piston Brembos on the Territory.

Is there another grade of performance pad above this one as the current ones have sort of lost that performance "edge"?

I was thinking maybe HPS or HP Plus?

What would you recommend keeping in mind low dust is a prime factor.

Neither pad would be low dust sorry and HP Plus can be very noisy. What about the Project MU pads in the NS at $280 a set delivered

Cheers, seems like a good price. Is that with the HPX or Remsa pads? Which of the two pads would you recommend for daily driving or spirited street driving?

Either and both work fine although the Remsa seem to have an edge in my opinion and if your not in to much of a hurry we will have some more Brembo pads available soon.

That's interesting, the Hawk PC pads are based on low dust/high performance and I have exactly that, VERY low dust good performance.

I understand that the Hawk PS Plus would be noisy, based on the composition of the pads.

I think you sold me the Project MU with my original Brembo brake package, which had VERY good stopping performance, but those pads produced way more dust than the Hawk PC ones.

Just trying to get a grip on the next set of pads I will need mate.

What would be the price of new front rotors for a SYII Territory please? This would just be to replace the original discs which I think are warped. (4 years old now.)

Thanks

Correct! the Hawk Performance Ceramic pads you have are low dust performance pads but you mentioned 2 other pads here "I was thinking maybe HPS or HP Plus? HPS pads are High Performance Street and are very good (if dust wasn't a factor) but are not low dust and the HP Plus are there street/track crossover pad which as you mentioned would not suit because of the pad composition.Hawk ceramic is the only low dust performance pad i can think of that is available.
Would i be safe to say the PMU NS are dustier than the Hawk performance ceramic then but less dust than the genuine pads?

I think YES, PMU were a good pad, GREAT stopping power, better than the ceramics, medium dust I would call it.

Thanks for the clarification

Hi Matt
Re these project MU pads.
I think these are what Nelsonian is using on track days.
I've recently put in my second set of Bendix SRT up front.
Said they generate heaps of heat (trackdays) & may be partly responsible for excessive bearing wear.
Do you have any extra feedback on these pads ?
Best kept for trackdays or are ok for general duties ?
I've recently put in my second set of Bendix SRT up front & found them less dusty than oem, fair on the track & good bite for general use on the road so not too keen to throw them away.

Project Mu have many different materials available and the HC+ would be the equivalent to the SRT pad in the PMU range although i would say it is a better pad.The HC+ can be used for both street and track the SRT pads are not high on my recommendation list sorry.

Hi Matt.
Do you know if the 322mm vented rear disc off the BF xr8 will fit on the back of an FG GS instead of the 303mm rear and will the standard rear caliper work happily with the bigger disc?
Thanks in Advance
Cameron.

Hi mate you will find that the rear disc is 328mm and you also have to have to caliper that is used on it as the std caliper for the 303mm disc will not fit sorry plus you may need new hoses.

Thanks for the reply. What would you recommend as a suitable upgrade for FG GS 5.4L with the standard setup? Is it worthwhile putting in braided lines?

Cheers

Depends on budget and the wheels you will use for the brake upgarde and what you will use the car for. Braided lines are always a better option but for std street use rotors and pads will be better as a basic upgrade for the street..

Thanks for taking the time to answer my questions Matt.
No real budget and the wheels are factory 19" Dark Argents. Do you know the specifications of the factory optional 4 pot upgrade that was available on the first FPV GS's? As this is ultimately what I am after as I would like to keep it looking stock as if it were a factory option.

Thanks again.

Cameron

From memory these had the Brembo 4 piston front with 355mm xdrilled and slotted rotors and the rears were the PBR single piston caliper with 328mm vented xdrilled rotors. This kit with factory rotors would cost you about $4800 or we can supply the same size kit with DBA T3 slotted rotors and braided lines for about $4000.lines

These are BF XR6T and BF XR8 Series 1 brakes. You will need to do some mods for the rears to fit as they foul on the backing plate and hanbrake i think but some people have done the conversion plus you will need hoses.
Do you want RDA or DBA rotors and do you want plain or slotted. Brake pads start from $50 a set thanks.

DBA T3 are far better rotors in my opinion but i will quote for you and the $50 front pads are the Remsa we have on special but no rears left atm. Better pads are the Ferodo DS Performance at $150 a set for now.

RDA7934D - Slotted/dimpled $150 a pair
DBA 2107S T2 Slotted $170 each
DBA 42107S T3 Slotted $215 each

RDA7935 Plain $55 each
DBA 2108 Plain $97.50 each
DBA 42108 Plain $185 each

Hi Matt.

I am chasing set front rotors (DBA 42107S I think?) for my BFII XR6T as well as whatever pads you recommend if delivery to Mackay is possible without being too prohibitive?

What about a braided line to suit the standard front caliper too?

Cheers,

Craig.

I would like to upgrade my discs and pads on the 2012 FPV GS that I own. It has the standard brakes that came with the car. How much for the DBA T3 4000 and DS Ferodo pads front and rear delivered to Victoria 3429? Also, would braided lines and quality brake fluid make much difference. I would like to give the car improved brakes to match its prerformance.

How much for the DBA T3 4000 and DS Ferodo pads front and rear delivered to Victoria 3429? Also, would braided lines and quality brake fluid make much difference. I would like to give the car improved brakes to match its prerformance.
The braided lines and fluid will help with the improvement of the brakes for sure and the braided lines won't flex like a rubber line will but for street use it is not a neccesity whilst the car is still new.
The DBA T3 rotors and DS Performance pads with delivery to 3429 is $1065 and an extra $280 for braided goodridge lines thanks.
