I’d invest it in wine, women and cars as I’d hate to think I’d wasted it.

I’m another one who likes property for a whole mess of reasons but a million dollars wouldn't do much in high growth sought after areas where the real money is so as an alternative I'd be looking at some form of interest based investment.

Its not the toys that you've got when you get put in the ground, its the toys you've played with.

Chances are they'll find me dead under some bridge somewhere next to my 205L drum but my Nissan GTR parked next to it

I'd never have a million dollars because there are too many nice cars on the way up to the seven figure mark

These days 1 mil doesn't get you too far. Not like it used to 40years ago. Some houses cost as much so there it all goes. You can't really retire on it unless you live a very simple life. You would still need to work.

Two or more investment propertires in outer CBD would possibly have more growth over time ? Plus better income, rental potential.. Remember it's an investment .. Not your own home ., work plenty ot pay rentals and tax refund pay your house you reside in .. This way your money is working for you ..
Much better than working for money .. Paying over 40% income tax ..
