I think 0-100 is the most relevant comparison because I'm generally not accelerating past that speed and 0-100 gives you a good feel of how the car runs. I've driven thousands of cars and in 99.9% of cars the parties over at 100km/h.
But I haven't driven a super or hyper car.
Im glad 0 to a hundred is relevant to you.

Errrr....

Tesla Model "S".

proven to be the fastest car available in Australia in 0-100 km/h standing start.

Forget 4 seconds, try 3.2.

Everything else looks stupidly slow.

Yes..0-100 very relevant to those who don't do 200km/h in public streets.

You will get absolutely flogged by any car ever made or modified by anyone ever in Australia if you line up a Model S Tesla.

Get a professional driver, launch any way you want...my grandma could beat any HSV/FPV blah blah is she were driving the "S".

And...recently flogged the SuperCheap auto V8 supercar in a journo day.

3.2 thats cute.

Not even close to the fastest in aussie. The nismo GTR is pretty close to the 2 second mark and the standard GTR usually comes in at 2.6-2.8 which is just under 3 seconds by the way.

And it uses gas .

Plus its almost at the end of its model run

Cant wait for next gen GTR 3.0 TT with electric assist.

No it doesn't do that to 100km/h (60mph)...its 4km/h shy off the mark.

Makes it same as the Tesla.

Okay. Data logged for you first link.

https://www.google.co.nz/url?sa=t&so...5alLnSWPPyR5BQ

The nismo model makes it look even more stupid let alone the 3.0 v6 electric assist GTR we shall see in the update.

The tesla is damn quick and they are alright seen a heap in the states when I was over there but definitely not the fastest car in Aussie.

Imagine going across Melbourne with 20 traffic lights...and imagine being flogged...absolutely...convincingly...embarassingl y.. in your V8...trying desperately to keep up...revving the crap out of it and dropping the clutch...frying the tyres...trying to get close enough to call it a contest.

Then imagine it's my grandma driving the Tesla smiling at you...especially with her white bowling hat on the parcel shelf?

I don't expect everyone to have a worked motor so to me sub 7 seconds is fast to me, 5 seconds is what I would expect from my race cars

As far as I’m concerned if your factory stock car can’t crack 300km/h straight out of the box then there's no point unwrapping the packaging.

There I’ve said it, your 0-100 may be quick but it doesn’t make you fast.

That's because 0-100 is a serious subject where no-one can afford to be a fence sitter.

Hulk let us all in on that secret with his revelation on the previously unknown Aurion performance credentials.

Plus the thread has lost track.

The question was what do you consider to be a quick 0-100?

Not is a quick 0-100 the only means to determine you have a quick car.

I think realistically based on what your average aussie can actually afford to drive, anything under 5s in a rear wheel drive is fast.

very fair comment i think, and fast is a subjective thing , a lot of cars on the road feel really really fast , even though a lot of that feeling is trying to hang on to it due to very average road dynamics.
my mums old series 3 nissan bluebird felt horrifyingly fast due to the scary road dynamics at anything involving speed above 40 kph and steering input ; ).

My old car did 0-170kph in about 7 seconds. At a guess, I would say that it would do a 2.8-3.0 0-100 time. Pretty quick...

You jealous little stalking piece of ****.

Do you really think I care about what cars your mates drive ?

None of your mates with their fully *** over boosted bags of bolts can come close to a Tesla.

Just cause you hand paint the calipers red doesn't mean its a fast car...so what else you got pal?
