What exactly is your issue there? Those are standard 'boilerplate' clauses which are in just about every contract. Nothing controversial there.

At the end of the day Facebook is optional. You don't need to be on that website and when you do use it you can expect them to do what they like with you and the information that you give them.
30 years ago could you imagine giving a private corporation/government your family photos (by extension your GPS coordinates), phone number and address? Call me a conspiracy nut but it's gone too far. Facebook is severely overvalued as a stock too.

Ok. You're a conspiracy nut.
30 years ago, we adopted EFTPOS in Aus. Imagine your every purchase being traceable!?!?!?!? One step too far, surely. You'd have to be an idiot to expose yourself that way...surely even a serial fool would only ever use cash. Right? |

The NASDAQ composite index is now officially 3% higher than the levels from 2000. Within 12 months we're going to see a major revaluation in these horrid tech stocks.

What??? Of course he sells your information. So people can target you with ads within Facebook. It's not rocket science and it IS worth a crapload of money. It's not a tech stock, it's an advertising stock.
Now... What's false about my equating your fear of giving information to Facebook vs fear of giving information to a bank? Or did you think using the term 'false equivalence' grant you an automatic win in some way? They're both companies out to make a profit off you, in return for a service. At least Facebook is optional, try getting by without a bank account... |
