I've been doing a fair bit of reading regarding suspension and lsd setups over the last hour or two, and I'll put into practice what I've learnt tomorrow - I should be able to get it down to a 1:26, hopefully better...
If I do get a reasonable time (any better then a 1:28) I'll get a picture, otherwise I won't bother, does that sound fair enough, considering the times other people are getting?

The reason for this, I suspect, is that GT4 doesn't load your entire garage into the PS2's memory, only whichever car you've currently got selected, and the stats it shows when you look in your garage (Power to weight, Power, etc.). So if this is the case, if you rip out the memory card while you're playing it, the PS2 can't retreive all the information required when it goes to save, because it's expecting it to all be there already asides from what has changed since the last save (car setup for the currently selected car, race results, etc.), which is all it actually saves. I hope I've made sense. I still have yet to have a go at this with revised suspension and diff setups, I keep getting distracted by the races I have yet to win which give me cars I don't already have. Do I need to provide proof of my 1.28.something time, or is it too slow to worry about?

Maybe we should make it that each comp ends on Friday midnight and goes on for 7 days, before being replaced with a new comp. We can do this until (a) We've raced every track in the game or (b) all of us have lost interest in it and moved on to better things in life.

I say close this tonight at midnight. Unless someones posts a new time in the next half hour, the list as it is now, stands.
Unfortunately I don't have access, again, to a digi cam, so will not post my fastest time. My current time with photo stands. I propose we start a championship, if enough people are interested? This being counted as the first round, of 10. (or 5?) Points for the first 6 fastest times as per GT. 10pts for first, 8 for second, 6 for third, 4 for fourth, 2 for fifth, and 1 for sixth. (I think that's correct?) Start a poll every second saturday, and decided by the monday, for the next track to be competed on. Each round is open for a fortnight, closing on the friday night before the new poll. I suggest cars should be limited to production cars (No tuner cars either) of the host tracks origin. Ie, Suzuka open to Japanese (or Asian?) cars. Laguna Seca open to American cars and so on. Except the 'Original tracks', where a random vehicle origin will be chosen. (How, unsure?) Modifications are free. The Nurburgring should be the 10th and final round, open to all production cars in the game. Maybe a prize for the champion could be arranged in the form of a forum shirt or sticker? Nothing too big. But something... Thoughts? Suggestions? Not worth the trouble? |

Thinking about it, having a poll and trying to decide on a track and cars for each round could be a long and drawn out process.
So, I propose the following as our championship: Race 1: Seattle - Australian Race 2: (7th - 20th May) Apricot Hill (Reverse) - Japanese 6 cyl Race 3: (21st - 3rd June) Fuji Speedway 90's - American Race 4: (4th - 17th June) Special Stage Route 5 - German Race 5: (18th - 1st July) Tokyo:Route 246 - Japanese Turbo Race 6: (2nd - 15th July) El Capitan (Reverse) - UK Race 7: (16th - 29th July) Tsukuba Circuit - WET - OPEN Race 8: (30th - 12th August) Suzuka Circuit - American pre 1980 Race 9: (13th - 26th August) Costa di Amalfi - European Race 10: (27th - 9th September) Nurburgring Nordschleife - OPEN NOTE: All cars eligible are to be production cars. No Tuner cars. No race cars. Modifications are free. The Japanese Turbo class is open to all factory turbo cars. Ie the car must have a turbo as purchased. Adding a turbo through modification does not qualify. The last four races are intended to be of an increased difficulty. Thoughts? Last edited by ExAreSix; 07-05-2005 at 12:03 AM. |

Yeah, that's a good idea I reckon, only thing is lets make it so that we can choose from about 4-5 cars though.
