The difference is Hillary conceded defeat and accepted the vote. Trump is refusing to accept the vote of the country. Whether there is widespread fraud has yet to be shown despite the Trump team saying the evidence is coming. The fact is so far they have shouted fraud but haven’t been able to show any credible evidence to support it. There may be all the suspicions you want but without evidence to the contrary as it stands Biden won both the popular and electoral collage votes and is the president elect.

Because the Trump campaign instigated court proceedings which meant the mail in ballots had to be put to one side whilst it was in progress. These were later counted after the court cases were dismissed.

And then miraculously swung the vote all of a sudden?

Because the Biden campaign heavily promoted mail-in votes, whereas Trumps team told people to vote in person. This meant that the mail in votes were heavily in favour of Biden. This is why he was trying to get them discounted in the first place.

The US federal agency responsible for officially signing off on the presidential transition process has recognised Joe Biden as the "apparent winner" of the US election.

The recognition from the General Services Administration clears the way for the start of a transition, despite US President's Donald Trump's refusal to accept the results of the election.

Mr Trump tweeted that he had directed his team to cooperate on the transition, but vowed to continue his legal challenges to the election result.

Administrator Emily Murphy made the decision to sign off on the transition process after Mr Trump's efforts to subvert the vote failed in key battleground states.

Michigan certified Mr Biden’s victory on Monday local time, and a federal judge in Pennsylvania tossed out a Trump campaign lawsuit on Saturday.

Yohannes Abraham, the executive director of the Biden transition, said in a statement that the decision "is a needed step to begin tackling the challenges facing our nation, including getting the pandemic under control and our economy back on track".
