the other way to set it up is through your desktop or laptop which runs win 8.1. Go to the Netflix website and download the app and use hdmi to your tv (I had to play with resolution settings though). Not sure about apple computers, but can do it through ipads etc. I set it up on my old mans computer running windows 7 by using google chrome as the host, and downlowding the Netflix ad on. If not, try firefox.

However, I do have an xbox one with xbox live and do it this way. There is a smartglass app for using your iphone as a remote for xbox media apps i.e. blu rays, avi's and Netflix.

At first glance, Netflix is good, however, after being stuck at home sick for a week I quickly found the extent that I will enjoy Netflix until it is updated with more options. Even though ive watched most things I wanted on Netflix, its still more valuable than foxtel (which is getting cut this week)

I'm all ears. I couldn't get Netflix US to work properly through my PS3. The website would show up on the TV no problem but I couldn't click on any of the programme thumbnails to select any content. Only hyperlink like HOME etc would work, leading me to think it's a browser problem or some sort of region blocking thing. I was using UnblockUS VPN service also.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

How about Netflix AU?

Just download the netflix app, our (old'ish) LG wouldn't do it but the PS3 is fine, and The Dragon Lady can watch shows on her tablet as well.

Update: I ordered an AppleTV online on Tuesday after several back n forth PM's with Olfella (thanks again for all your help)

Set took less than 5 mins and its SO MUCH EASIER to navigate through than the xBox

I'm seriously considering a second one for the other TV

Been using the Apple TV for a week now, so impressed I'm getting Foxtel disconnected. Not worrying to much about Netflix going straight to Hulu plus, newer shows. All the sports channels are great including UFC tv.

Only thing foxtel that has is motorsports but ill stream my f1 and save $50 a month.

I mainly use my PC for netflix but alos have App for my xbox one so can use it on big TV. my connection is 15mps with some slight buffering/loading at start i can stream hd no problems

Anyone watch daredevil yet??

I suggest anyone that wants netflix hulu nowtv or any other streaming service invest in a dns service like unblock-us $5 per month greatly expands your content. For more discretion and other options also include a VPN service for another $5 a month and have no about data retention
i pay $88 with iinet cable 100mb speed with 1tb data allowance as well as all the free xbox live and fetch tv as well as netflix

this speed was taken with the kids playing the xbox online , netflix on an i pad as well as the tv on netflix

I am on a cable internet plan though not an adsl internet plan

Our area is about 25 yrs old but we had neighbor hood cable come through the area and put in a fibre cable internet service about 10 yrs plus ago they have just recently redone this area

It is so good having cable/fibre i have only had one drop out and that was due to a car accident that took out the power at the main centre

I've been watching always sunny at the moment using NordVPN to allow me to get access to US Netflix. I was using Hola but I deleted that after all the **** that came out about botnets last week. Nord gets a pretty favourable review here http://reviewmyvpn.com/

On the website it will tell you how to set it for the XBOX. You could go through the modem itself but that can be overkill if you only want it for one device.

I've not tried Stan as yet. Netflix doesn't have the latest stuff as far as movies go, but for $11/month I'm really happy with it. I'm not really into watching TV series on Netflix - just a movie at a time to kill the crap with watching FTA TV, and putting up with inane ads that are insulting to everyone's intelligence. I can pause Netflix whenever I want and resume the movie days later.

I'll Google chromecast and see what it has to offer.

Cheers!

How do you find the latest episodes for download ? but I can't be bothered downloading anything, then trying to get it to play on the TV, phone or tablet.

Netflix does it all for me...........but I'll check out chromecast as well.

how?
on the torrent site you use you use the search bar lol

id watched the whole of 12 monkeys before it even aired here

if they actually did global same day releases and put them all on the one pay tv company then they would find that people pirating would decrease (imo)

but according to some articles i read today on it pirating will kill the australian film and tv industry
pmsl
its been around for years, hows the industry going?
still making hundreds of million thats how its going

imagine if you could buy your fav tv show for a $1 an ep
most of us would be in
but instead they want to screw you cash wise while charging crazy prices
they could seriously decrease the prob tomorrow
but greed is too high on their agenda

Hulu gets the episodes as they air in the US, you do have to watch 2-3 ads every 20minutes but the Yank ads for medication are funny, the car ads are a bit depressing though when you see the prices they can get them for.

Netflix is a huge step in the right direction.

My 'habits' have decreased significantly as a result of having Netflix.

i'm one of those people who had automated a lot of stuff, so effort was completely minimal, and i'd still rather pay $12 a month for the legal option, regardless of if it has everything or not.

the feeling of entitlement amongst TV show viewers is ridiculous.

I think its generally because up until say the last 5 years FTA was actually "decent".

Now anything worth watching is on pay TV or pay via online. Just a big mindset change for us to pay for TV.

V8SC's (not that I watch it) is a good recent example.

Theres still a lot of good content on FTA, there is a bunch of 'filler' but it really just comes down to people being an impatient bunch of cheap skates.

Want to set up Netflix on a 2nd tv and is not a smart tv. Was told to check out google chromecast; which is a dongle and plugs into your hdmi port on your tv, and using your wifi signal can stream Netflix (and other things) from your phone or tablet to the tv. Great. However, google chromecast is only android compatible.

Me and my girlfriend use iphones and she also has an ipad. So the option then is Apple TV. So my questions is; "is apple tv worth it?". Im sure id check out other stuff through apple tv; but is it worth buying?
