Yep same thing happened here, just not on a camp fire. Bloody painful.
But not as bad as one of the firsts posts, Getting shot in the head with a nailgun! ! I think I'd rather burn myself again.

Falling off my XR630 on a gravel road doing about 40km/hr, that was cool, what wasnt cool was having to visit the hospital everyday to be held down and my graze on my leg to be scrubbed with a firm surgical plastic toothed brush to remove the debris, followed by some hydrogen peroxide to eat away the infected skin...
Other than that bulging a disc in my back, that hurt

Broke my arm at school shattered both bones just down from the elbow. Taken to the local doctor who was too scared too touch it but decided to put a rolled up magazine as a splint then used an adhesive bandage to keep it all in place. When the surgeon had to peel the tape off the skin piece by piece so he could set it that hurt!
I then had to have it rebroken two weeks later after the swelling had gone down to set it right, double ouch

I was in a car accident bit over a month ago (rolled a lifted hilux on 35" tyres) and got a fractured sternum. A lot of pain i must say. Still not allwed to do anything at the moment..

When i was about 6-7 i cut my leg open at school and was rushed to hospital where i got 36 stitches..

Split my head open at a school disco because a beam fell from the roof when the kids pulled down the balloons.. Yes a beam fell from the roof and smacked me in the head!!!

Cracked a rib when i went over the handlebars of my RM 125 going down a mountain. I was only wearing shirt and shorts and a crappy helmet. I must've slid and rolled for about 10 or more metres..

That's about it for me besides broken toes haha!

Hmmm let me see:

- childbirth 3 times, including middle child at 10 pound 5, 57cm long and 38 cm head and all naturally (1994, 1997 and 2006)

- smashed left foot: fell down 1m drop next to house, landed in side of ankle, popped foot right out of socket and broke 5 bones in foot, drove manual car to hospital where they popped foot back into ankle joint without realising that 5 other bones were broken, and 5 bones could not be mended so foot is still pretty much rooted 4 years late... (2003)

- gall bladder pain, resulted in 10 gall stones being removed, and one being stuck in duct to liver causing hepatitis, which had to be removed separately (1997)

- 4 wisdom teeth removed: one had impacted, and they decided to remove the other three even though they were not up, had to dig them out of gums and break lower jaw to get them out, had plate inserted (2001)

- ran past door in house and collected small toe, and completely dislocated it, was hanging off side of foot, whole foot was purple for months (1998)

- smashed kneecaps

Well apparently it's "just one of those things" that some people get, I guess a lot don't. My first consultation was with a female doctor and after she told me to drop my strides (I wish that would happen more often!!) she looked and her first words were "Holy !"

XR chic if I remember correctly I think I had a 45cm head when born (Of course I don't remember the event, but I've seen the measurments somewhere). I wasn't as heavy as your middfle one though.

Like everyone , Broken bones (arm, leg),torn ligaments(ankles, shoulder) ,cuts ,etc. The most painful injury I think I had was when a radiator overheated on my little datto 180B and blew up in my face when I checked it at the servo at Johns River on NSW Nth Coast. I had to drive to Taree Hospital with a wet towel on my face. It was a quick trip . Got 2nd and 3rd degree burns to my face. Luckily no scarring. I think anyone who received 1st degree burns ,would in my opinion ,would have experienced terrible pain.

yeah they do hurt, but I've had them kicked and beaten black and blue so many times I do wonder whether they still work (well I'm not a father) but with so many times sometimes I think I should just get over it and wear a skirt.

Some of my greatest hits include direct kick from a chick while I was on the way down from jumping to avoid said kick, landing with full body weight on 1 3/4 inch suspended pipe (I was 100kg at the time and didn't walk for about half an hour) kicked by someone during a showpony layup in basketball game and didn't make the court for the rest of the game

The worst i think i woulda had would be just a cramp in my leg, it happens a fair bit really shits me when i stretch while im bed and it hits

I havnt been badly injured or sick in my life thank god

But my dads actually in hospital today (went in at about 4am this morning)

He has a kidney stone on its way out and his had on and off pain since last wednesday - usually its bearable pain but sometimes its really extreme that stays on for upto 6 hours at a time , his been to the Emergency dept of the hospital 3 times in the space of a week

They finally decided to keep him there for 48 hours for observation then they will operate if it hasnt come out by then

So hopefully he ends up pulling thru alright and QUICKLY!!!- Im forced to run 2 businesses now while his out of order (mine and his) , Working from 6am - 9pm = damn tired.

Mate, that is HUGE. I have never heard of that! 38cm is like on the 98th percentile so I can imagine how big 45cm was! Your poor Mum!!! WOW!

Some interesting stories here.

When i was little i was on one of our sheds when i fell thru it, that hurt.
I got into a "tiff" with a mate when i was about 13 and he hit me in the head with a peace of wood with a nail in it!!!, bit of blood.

When i was at school i took all the skin off one of my knees.
Playing some rugby game at school a guy tackled me knocking me out for a minute.

Dropping a kitchen draw full off stuff on my big toe, black for a few weeks.

Having stomach pain for a few years, after seing many GPs over a few years, we finaly got them to stick a camera into my stomach which found a stomach olsar.

I played soccer when I was a child. I never understood why the players standing in the defensive wall had their hands positioned over their groins. Then one day while standing in the wall I coped one full belt into the plums and was down and out for the count. They had to sub me off the field and it was at least five minutes before I could walk as I felt like I was paralysed from the waist down. I'd rather bash my thumb with a hammer then feel that pain again!

A few years ago when i came off the motor bike the fall and the slide did not hurt as such as it was wet and I was only doing about 40kmh but i had a set of keys on a dog lead clip on my belt loop and 2 dug through my jeans then through the skin then through the muscles and right into into my hip bone
It hurts going in BUT it cains about 100 times pulling them out

Ok I have a few..

Wont go into them all but here are two,

Was a pillion passenger on an RM125 on the sand dunes,we come up to a dune that dropped away sharply and off I come, on the way down the insides of my legs acting like disk brakes on the knobbly tyres, big burnout scar on both legs, sort of like half a burn half gravelrash, stopped an inch or two short of my goolies thank god,was walking like John Wayne for weeks..

The other one was when I was a fair bit younger and a little wild, got into a blue at a venue, got kicked fair on to the side of my jaw,one of my molars got split in half length ways, right down to the root, the inside half coming away, stayed in for a few weeks till it came out, that hurt like hell the day after, and for a few weeks, type of pain that goes right through your skull...

Another gold ole bike one but it was not me
A work collegue was attempting to kick start his RGV and the compression was high and he snapped his achillies tendon right in half and it retracted the muscle and tendons up into a ball where his calf muscle use to be - he said he was in that much pain he peed in his pants and spewed a few times before passing out

Worst pain would probably be cramps in the night after wicket-keeping for 50 overs, they last for ever!
An honourable (and hilarious now, but not at the time) mention was at camp early this year. I was trying to fix my sleeping bag zip when little to my knowledge an ant crawled in and decided to make itself comfoartable. I turned the light off and got in, then about 5 seconds later I feel this excrutiating pain in my left cheek, so I jumped out of bed and was writhing on the floor screaming slapping my when the teacher walks in and asks whats happening... He says 'oh come on it wouldn't have hurt that much' and I'm on the floor yelling. Anyways five minutes later I'm shaking my sleeping bag and deadset this one inch long ant comes out... My mates never saw anyone swing a thong so hard...

Hmmmmmmmmm,
The worst pain for me would be watching stuff up all the hard yards I put into Humble Pie, so that genuine car people can't enjoy using their cars.
I don't do it for money or glory, I do it 'cause I'm a car guy!

Not from me but a mate had a twisted testicle(apparently you get them from straining??). He was in so much pain he couldn't move and was lucky he could reach his mobile phone to call someone. Thinking about it just makes me squirm!!

All of a sudden when I moved, I felt a sharp pain in my left knee, and I collapsed to the ground. My kneecap had dislocated, but popped back in. In doing so, it stretched all the ligaments. I managed to get back up, but it was very sore. I spent the next couple of hours in the sick bay with ice on the knee. I stupidly still played badminton that night. Adreniline took over, and I actually won my matches without much pain! After the matches, the pain kicked in though, and the knee was the size of a balloon

It took about a fortnight for it to recover, but since then, it's been weaker. So much so, I starting taking more weight off my left knee and applying it to my right knee. Sure enough, it failed too, in very similar circumstances. Both kneecaps have dislocated about half a dozen times each since that first incident. Since those ligaments are stretched, they don't seem to hurt anywhere near as much these days. What originally took about a fortnight to recover now takes a couple of hours.

Mine was similar to this. When I was in about year 10. One day every step I took my left knee would dislocate, then I straightened my leg up, it popped back in. And with every step I'd collapse on the ground. Happened all day. Ended up popping out close to what would have been about 40 times in the whole day. Was in physio for 6 months after that day, and haven't played basketball since.
