Nah, no friends nearby that could help us like that.

Yeah, we've been trying to do this the right way, but it seems that despite everyone going "oh no, he can't do that, I can't believe he did that, what an idiot!", nobody can help us and the only legal avenues we have are to go back to court again and hope that the judge orders the idiot to open the house up for us to get our things, and then that the police actually do their f*ckin' job and enforce the bl*ody order instead of telling us to F off.

We should have a court hearing in a few days time about it all, hopefully that works, but I have to admit, I'm worried about the things in the mean time, after all the number plates have already gone, and we don't know what else might have gone...

*EDITED: information about my pathetic family removed.*

We thought it was best to continue to pursue the legal avenue, with the hope that things would be resolved within the next few days.

It looks as though that was wishful thinking.

The local Police, after the THIRD phone call from us, FINALLY reported the number plates as stolen and FINALLY wrote up the report which should arrive tomorrow. According to Vicroads, we can't get replacement plates without that Police report.

This also means that up until only a few hours ago, there was no record of those plates being stolen, so if they've been used on another car that has been caught speeding, running a red light or driving off without paying for petrol, among other things...

This is simply not good enough!

In other news, despite phone calls and faxes to VCAT (Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal), the soonest we can get a hearing is next Tuesday. That is the day AFTER the lease expires, and no doubt next Monday (if not sooner) the landlord will move all the things that are currently there out (Car, engine, goods, etc.).

Again, not good enough that despite us telling VCAT how urgent the situation is, they won't organise a hearing any sooner then next Tuesday.

At this point in time, we are not interested in getting any sort of revenge (it would be satisfying, I'll admit, but at this stage it's not something we are interested in), all we want is to get our things back.

So, consider this an appeal to all members of the Australian Ford Forums who could possibly help us move the EB, the replacement engine the garden tools and the boxes of goods which are inside the house at the moment.

Any help would be appreciated.

If you can help us (and the sooner the better), please PM either myself or LuvinmyEB so we can give you the details necessary.

Thanks for all your support, it's been very much appreciated during this difficult time.

Troy.

Yeah, it seems doing the "right" thing might not be the best thing to do in this situation, we've tried, but it seems if we continue to do things via court and the police (both of which are proving to be practically useless to us), we stand a very real chance of never get our things back.

So that is why I am appealing to anybody that can help us - sadly, we can't do it on our own (don't have the required equipment, hell we only have one car here that is in a drivable condition, and a Ford Escort isn't really a practical car for moving large things with), so any help would be very much appreciated.

Like I wrote, we just want to get our things back, and the sooner the better - the longer it takes, the more chance there is of more things going missing.

: Please, can anybody help us? :

P.S. Both LuvinmyEB and I have already sent PMs to people who have already offered help both in this thread and privately via PM.

Any day that anybody can come along and help is good with me, the sooner the better preferably, if you can make it on Saturday then it would be very much appreciated mate.

We're only too happy to provide food and drinks in exchange for assistance.

Here is the main hurdle to getting the EB, replacement engine and tools out... Two chains with locks on them, circled in yellow.

But I guess a pair of bolt cutters should make short work of the chains.

Man i say get rid of the lock and i doubt he could prove they were there unless you mentioned it to the cops then you could dig yourself a hole there. But youve gone through all the 'right' avenues and it seems like your ****ing in the wind. Id help but hey im a while away in canberra.

Just out of curiousity.....could those gates be taken off their hinges? If so, would be a bit cleaner than cutting the chain, then just put em back when you're done. Landlord cant exactly report anything missing and you didn't damage his property. Just a thought anyways.

Wouldnt that be a bit noisy. But i spose this guy doesnt seem very nice so i doubt the neighbours would mind. Some gates are as simple as lifting them up of a sorta hook thingy. So id just say unhook one end if possible and swing it open like a big gate then put it back on. You just want to hope the dodgy bastard doesnt get even more dirty on ya

The neighbours on either side of the house are pretty decent people, who we got along with really well and are not likely to cause any trouble, far from it. The neighbours across the road are not likely to cause any trouble either.

Biggest problem will be, if you have a good look at the picture of the gates, the gates and driveway itself are only JUST wider then the Falcon itself (it just fits between the fence and the house) - so we'll have to make sure the gates are not in the way.

Another amateur!,

Buy a dozen or two RAW shrimps, stuff gently (and deeply ) into the hollow curtain rods you leave behind, other small spaces include the space where the sink pipe dissapears in the bottom of the kitchen cupboard, inside light fittings, and if you have the time and inclination behind the light switches.

It takes a few days for this to truly take effect so do it as the last thing, take you time and try to drop them behind fixed items, correctly done can make a place uninhabbitable.

Regards Prof Rabbit

If you have a lease, gaining access to the property is legal.

What do the hinges look like? Bolt and nut? Screw? Welded?

Even if you could get one hinge free, that will enable you to open the gates as one big gate

Exactly! I just want to get our things back, and no longer have faith in the legal system to make the landlord give us access, which he has refused to do so far.

Yes, it would appear so, although I did discuss this with her first, and her response was "I just want our stuff back", which is what I am trying to organise, so I don't understand why I am now in the shit, nor so I see it as any reason to not go ahead with it - waiting until next tuesday does NOT seem like a good idea to me.
