Probably the handiest feature I've seen for a while:

Other attributes of the gearbox include sequential-manual operation (via the T-bar, not the steering wheel like on Commodore and Adventra), grade logic control for automatic downshifting (to provide increased engine braking downhill), and a transient rpm limit that allows the engine to momentarily exceed the prescribed 6000rpm rev
limit by 250rpm during upshifts.

i guess the XT will look like the Ghia only without the lights and less chrome.

I like it, Thank god for the BF, Its been a long time coming. Finally, our power and huge torque increases to XR's. A 6 speed Manual for the base xr6 that will now stand it apart from the XT and that sweet sweet ZF auto!

New 6 speed looks great, the leather booted shifter less of a plasticy hollowy cheap feeling bannana like instrument of Mk's 1 and 2.

Like the XR kits and the fron of the (now confirmed) fairmont. Hopefully the XT and Especially Futura are less bland and have more. Great work to ford for fixing the fuel consumption. Now heres to kicking some ****. I hope its enough to keep the Falcon up there.

Wish we had some info about what models were getting what etc...

Whats the go with the Sunroofs on both those, maybe the XR8 and Ghia come standard with them!

Importantly, the transmission also offers a lower first gear ratio, higher top gear and smaller, more graduated shift points between each gear.

“The low first gear improves launch feel while it offers livelier performance, especially with a wide open throttle,” Mr Worthington said. The unit will be standard on Fairmont Ghia, Fairlane Ghia, Fairlane G8, LTD, Territory TX AWD, TS AWD and Ghia AWD. It will be optional (for an estimated $1500-$1800) on the XR6 Turbo and XR8 sedan and utes, and will be specified as a mandatory fitting when the Barra 230 V8 engine is combined with either Falcon XT or Fairmont.
Excellent! Now to find one in my ED!!

They look nice. Notice in the article that the Fairlane G220 has become the G8! It would have the 230kW V8 but the car deserves the Boss 260. It's good to see any changes to the Falcon because Falcon facelifts seem to have become much rarer than in the past. The front bar to the FPVs will have to become much more aggressive because that XR8 front bar is showing some signs of the BA FPVs (like the downturned intake for example)

Man the BF looks very promising. Nice power upgrades and as mentioned the models over than XT get the extra power they should have had to begin with.

My guess is the XR8 figures will come within a FPV announcement, and if Ford dont do, we know where to find Boss power, licks lips at an Auto that will cope with the all that Boss torque effortlessly.

The BOSS engines will more than likely go up in power as well.

Nice changes overall and it makes up for the lack of styling change.

The extra 30Nm and 10Kw in the Fairmont Ghia alongside the 6-speed auto should make it a ripper of a thing. Luxury and performance for under 60K. This should clearly put it ahead of the Holden Calais, where it truly belongs.

And for the rest of the range, I think the 30 NM in the Xr6-T and 6-speed auto should mean it will fly. Waiting to hear wat's happening with the BOSS cars and F6. Would be a-w-e-s-o-m-e to have a 600NM 300KW 6-speed auto Typhoon. 12 sec 1/4 mile anyone???

That said, I'm still keen to see what the VE will bring with it.
