Still in the same job and still haven't had any holidays since December /January 2006 :

I have got an interview on Tuesday for a .NET Developer so hopefully that goes well.

Applications for the job close in April so the fact I already got an interview on the same day I sent my resume in is a good sign

Fingers crossed because I have found bugger all jobs so far :

Tuesday? As in April fools day?

I hope the interview is in the afternoon (jokes stop at midday). Good luck with it anyway.

I've been in IT (government, private, and back in government) for around 15 years or so, and I have no degree, so if I can do it, you can too. I'm actually looking at getting recognised quals for what I do (Project Management/Business Analysis) - but it's more of a "just in case" instead of a real need to have a bit of paper.

Nothin wrong with that, I started my current job on April fools day last year. I'm now permanent and loving it. I "work", and I use the term loosly, alongside vanman as a coal miner :

It's at 2pm so I'm in the clear :

Yeah I know qualifications aren't everything but it's been hard to find anything to get a foot through the door. Hopefully I'll get mine through this one!

I'm a Pest Management Technician - leading tech for the company I work for. Still not fully qualified but I'm about 99% of the way there. Very good job, not as dirty and messy as you might think, a lot of it is just problem solving and working out the best way to fix things.

All I can say is if you're thinking about anything to do with computers, is to forget about TAFE and go to uni IMO.

Every job I have looked at required a degree as minimum and/or commercial experience. About the only worth my diploma has is to get a year off a degree I've found :

Job change starting tomorrow. After 19 and a half years pulling spanners on large heavy earthmoving equipment here and overseas for dealerships and various companies, it's time to get off them. It has taken its toll with stuffed back, knees, neck, ankles and hands.
So permanent supervision and planning is now necessary. Going to miss fixing stuff but a change is necessary if I'm to have any quality of life.
