Was an interesting game that's for sure. Was a credit to the US to keep Italy to a draw playing 9 vs 10.

I didnt have a problem with the ref in the first half, I think he did his job, but the sending off of the 2nd United States player was poor, and thats coming from an Italian supporter. That group is now on a knife edge, will be extremely interesting to see how it all pans out.

I am enjoying the games I've seen and it's been great. Looking forward to getting up at 2 to watch the game. Have been following it with great interest and I look forward to the discussions next day at work. It's not going to change my opinion on the game, or make me follow once this tournament is finished. I think if Australia do well in the Cup, you'll see a lot more support for the game. Sadly, people just think of the game as Johnny Warren called it. A game for "Poofta's, Wogs & Sheila's" And not being an Australian game, to a majority of Australian's, not from european decent, will only ever see it as just that.

Second US player wasnt a sending off for a red it was a second yellow. There is no doubt that it was a yellow. |

Half time 0 all. I think we have looked as good if not better than brazil in the first half. Australia looks dangerous everytime we attack down the left side. The right hand side has hardly been explored. I think we need to be more patient in front of goal and not take shots from a distance through traffic but instead try to slot it through to get the ball into the box for a shot or possible penalty.
Brazil have looked dangerous and seem to get themselves in front of goal every time they head down our end. Should be an interesting 2nd half. Ronaldinho has looked the most dangerous of the brazillians and if they score it will come from his boot or setup.

1-0 brazil - pretty soft goal I think. Played through to ronaldo by ronaldinho then across the box to a brazillian. Then a fairly soft paced shot into the netting near post. I thought it was very stopable for schwarzer though. Soft and dissapointing.

GRRRRRr.
Braschiano squanders a chance on goal. Put through with no defender in front he stuffs around with the ball until the defence arrives and dosnt even get a shot away.

20 minutes left. Australia look threatening. Brazil seem to only look dangerous when they are on the counter and have more space. Otherwise it seems to get shut down and they lose possession or are forced back.
Ronaldo just replaced. His game was very ordinary.

Australia played bloody well just didnt take the opportunities, Didnt have that one ounce of luck that you need in this game and couldnt go near them without them getting a free.
That second goal was offside when the initial pass was done {not to the goalscorer} Bloody good effort though |

Yeah looking at the replay not offside. That whistle was still against us though, both the refs and the one Brazil had in the Crowd to confuse us during attack

We did well in the end. I didn't expect Australia to beat Brazil but the boys played very well.

Was a pretty good effort from Australia, they can hold their heads high. I went down to Fed Square. It was packed and the atmosphere was pretty good down there.
Looking forward to friday morning against Croatia.

This sucks for me, as i'm Croatian and i don't know who i should be barracking for now. Normally i'd go for Australia in anything else but when it comes to soccer i have naturally always gone for Cro, so i can't suddenly just switch sides and barrack against them. As much as i want the socceroos to go further i was secretly going for brasil tonight as this way Cro still have a chance. Sorry but i'm one of the few people on here that will not be going for Australia next match, (tho if the Socceroos come out on top I will then be backing Australia further on, i'll just call them Croatia 2, as they are known in croatia :P)
