Job: Telecommunications Engineer and Field Supervisor.
Location: NSW, QLD, VIC and soon WA. Fair bit of travel.
Like: Not being in the office much. Range of works I get to do. Civils to comissioning and hand-over with everything in between. (fiber, RF/microwave, rigging, BTS, transmission, shelter fit outs etc etc)
Dislike: %80 of the people I work with. Telstra, Silcar, Vodafone and Crowncastle.
How Long in Industry: 11 years.
Next Job (If any): State manager when my muppet boss gets sacked or build my own type of mobile base station and lease it out to Optus/Voda etc etc.
Dream Job: Doing nothing and getting paid well for it. (like my muppet boss)

Job: Automotive Engineer
Location: Brisbane
Like: The people I work with, getting to see/drive most cars before they are released to the market, designing automotive components, hands on work, satisfaction of completing my projects and seeing my designs/work driving around on the road, access to cheap parts
Dislike: Hours, no overtime, no TOIL for work travel, the pay, muppet customers who complain about everything
How Long in Industry: 6 years
Next Job (If any): Similar sort of job, but higher up
Dream Job: Pilot or vehicle development test driver

Job: Storeperson
Location: Blackwater QLd
Like: its in the mines so the work isnt exactly hard.
Dislike:still a grubby subby so get paid less than the full bloods and work twice as hard.
Dream Job: prima dona mine employee.. life doesn't get much better than that does it?? paid a fortune to do less work for only half the year earning 3 times as much as those poor buggers busting their balls back in the real world.
How long in industry: >3 years.

Job: electrical linesman = build and repair power lines

Location: miriam vale, central coast, queensland

Like: guys i work with, working outdoors, travel ( can be working in different area every day), challenges (problem solving)

Dislike: some people i work with. having to be on-call a lot of the time. getting trucks out of bogs.

How Long in Industry:11 years then a 9 year break and back into it for the last 6 1/2 years.

Next Job (If any): who knows ???

Job: Coal train driver, driving the 1.7km long 10,000 tonne coal trains for Queensland Rail...QR National...Aurizon...sorry, whatever they're called this week after some consultant has come up with a new moniker and is even now picking out the interior colours for his new Bentley...

Location: Bluff, inland central Queensland

Like: Just about everything. Pay is awesome for very little effort...but it can be stressful sometimes but if you keep your wits about you it's cool.

Dislike: Morons who drive around closed boom gates and flashing lights at level crossings in front of my train...feel free, knobend...I'll go home to my family, you'll go home in a box...or a lot of little boxes...

How Long in Industry: just on five years

Next Job (If any): Nope...this is it...stay until I retire.

Dream Job: Hmm...apart from what I do now, my daughter used to be a manager in a bra shop, and the custom fitting department sounded like a pretty good job...

Location: VIC
Like: Coming up with new ideas for clients! My own hours, my own boss etc
Dislike: Lack of regular payments, some clients taking ages to pay, paperwork!

Dream Job: Using finance to do good in the community - help out community groups, single parents who are doing it tough, and mentor young people who need some help with direction in their lives...
