that will be rather interesting too see what will happen with Korean parts. hopefully ford wont be too badly affected and can source parts elsewhere?? Ford Australia(well all our Australian manufactures) needs all the sales they can get and delays like that wont help too much.

The topic is March 2013 sales figures.
As there were no entries for Daewoo that brand whether it exists or not will be off topic. Keep it on topic please. |

Has there been a mention from Ford of a return of the RTV??
Or was this just an off the cuff rumour?

Over 1,000 Territory sales is still proof that people are sticking with the big Ford in tough times.
Hopefully, those EcoLPI supply problems will be over this month and we wlli see some better sales figures. I feel for Holden at this time, their fans weren't expecting the news just through..... |

If Ford finally gets rolling with EcoLPI production, I have a feeling that Falcon
sales will be back over 1,000 and Ute could be closer to 500 as well. I wonder if Ford would ever consider putting Ecoboost in the RWD Territory, a 9 l/100 km petrol SUV might offer a bit of competition in the petrol SUV market, maybe work better than Ecoboost Falcon.. |

Territory currently gets 10.6L/100km in RWD petrol & 8.2L/100km in RWD diesel. Incidentally and for comparison the 2012 Toyota Kluger is rated at 11.0L/100km. Falcon sedan gets 9.9L/100km in petrol (4.0) and 8.1L/100km in Ecoboost petrol. Falcon Ute gets 10.7L/100km in petrol (4.0). So, a 9L/100km result from an Ecoboost Territory is achievable. Yep, it definitely provide strong competition to others in the market. IMO Falcon sedan could get 7.5L/100km in diesel. Falcon Ute probably 8.0L/100km in diesel form. Importantly, having diesel in Falcon Ute would open the way to more tradies/fleets hearts and wallets.

The only problem is that these days, Ford has no room to move, every product decision costs money to develop and I wouldn't really blame them for being gun shy after the very poor response / lack if commitment on on Ecoboost Falcon I don't have the answers to these types of questions and I'm pretty certain that Ford doesn't either and that's why there's no diesel Falcon I know that Flappist mentioned something rather interesting recently with regards to some buyer views of a diesel Falcon (Ute?)... Sorry that it's a bit late but the graphical stats are now uploaded into the Tech Portal.

I've added both the Supplementary Sales Statistics and the First Quarter Segment Review / Summary to the Tech Portal now.

Nissan has done well this year. I can't believe they are only 1000 units away from 3rd place. Good job!!

Just a few minor corrections regarding images as well. In the SUV compact segment, you show a picture of a Santa Fe - I think it should be an ix35. Your photo of the Chrysler 300C is the old model. It's now known simply as the "300", by the way. In the large SUV segment, you state the Patrol sold 88. I think you left off a 0 - it should be 880. Your photo of the Camry is also the old model. |

This is true, however, only the Barina competes against the Fiesta, not the Spark. Some people here might wish to see how the Barina is doing against the Fiesta, and if you combine the figures, this isn't possible.

As for sharing the same platform, Territory and Falcon share the same platform, as does Kluger and Camry, and RAV4 and Corolla. I guess all of these vehicles are the same, right? |

You can argue the toss as much as you like but it isn't going to change my view - if anything, combining the figures does the Barina a favour but last time I looked this was primarily a Ford based forum and thus the nuances of Barina sales are hardly of major interest.
Cheers Russ

No automatic option and no 5 door body = no deal, according to FoA.

The car Ford needs here is the Figo. The Figo was designed here in Australia by Ford and is an update of the previous generation Fiesta. There is a newer restyled version coming. Figo is likely to be sold in Australia starting sometime this year. Another 500 units a month is good for Ford and their dealers.
