Nothing, I don't get it because I'm a student but not on the dole :
Don't earn enough to qualify for the tax on either.
Might be time to quit and try for centrelink.

good luck - my parents both had hypnosis therapy to quit 26 or 27 years ago, before they had my older brother.

Worked for both of them - they both HATE smoking, the smell of it etc - aparently it made them feel physically sick towards it - not like puke but discomfort

you must be a sicko, haha ,For $950, two hookers for a full weekend will only get you old hags from back alleys,
it cost that much for a double act for 3 hours in the early eighties

We get three rounds of it, Ill let the missus go nuts with one part on shopping (just come off maternity leave so in need of some new work clothes anyway).

One part goes into my sons education fund, the other probably towards the car, or maybe the new 1:18 John Goss Special XB model thats coming out.

I know this is not answering the question of this thread but I think that this money is wasted and should have been put too a far better use such as helping to create jobs. There are many projects through out Australia (All Goverment) that have been put back a bit so that local governments can have the tenderers for these projects sharpen their pencils on the prices. Petrol is going up but Desiel is down??? Well I guess the governmant never gives you anything unless it can get it back. From what I can tell here, the money will last about a week if that for most of you and if we extrapilate this to the wider community it will be about the average. Think this ression will go a bit longer than that some how. Already there have been job losses and companies going down, exactly what is the point of giving away money to anyone if there are no jobs and its only going to get worse yet before it starts to get better. We are only just hitting into this and thers a long climb out of it.
Don't get me wrong...anything from the gov is welcome but it always comes at a price.

2 new tyres - rest into the mortgage or super (gov't super co-contribution)

I agree that the money would be better spent - instead of a handout, use that amount for infrastructure projects, healthcare etc - this creates jobs and keeps cash circulating in the economy.

Before people get to excited about getting the bonus, they might want to have a read of THIS link, and have a go of this CALCULATOR to make sure you are eligible to recieve the bonus.

Not just everyone who earns under 80k gets it. You actually have to qualify. Will be interesting to see how many actually miss out who thought they would get it. Myself included.

Cheers

Rail networks are 15 years behind from the rest of the world. Yet we are bringing in
imigrants by the bucketloads and getting on the dole.

Create projects that way people will feel confident spending money and makeing it go around.

What will people that have lost their job in the last couple of months do with it? ($950)
When there is confidence and work people will spend, because next week is another dollar.
I agree absolute common sense we could have 6 lane highways modern railways maintained the way they used to be before it stopped under privatisation ,massive dams or desalination .I think the freeways in America where built in a depression from my memory .Projects all over australia building the nation with workers paying taxes to feed the economy spending money where they are working keeping shops open and people employed rather than just giving it away $900 is easy to spend .

Anyway I will buy a camera and the money will go overseas a shop will make a little and the government will get a little tax
