It's your car so you're free to do what you want with it. If it was me I probably wouldn't unless it was heavily modified and had the performance to match.

Don't put a full 100% GT FPV body kit on it... but bodykits are great mods - get a bodykit intended to go on an XR - ie, look at a C2R or AWC kit - not GT spare parts.

P.S whoever bought up PASHEN - BEST CAR EVER!!!

Wow, massively old thread here....

IMO, GT bodykits are fine on XR's, just as XR bodykits are fine on non-XR models.

Just don't put the Better model's Badges or stickers onto your car. I can't stand seeing Turbo badges on NA XR6's or GT badges on XT models.

Well said mate! Be proud of what your car is and what you've done to enhance it! No need to add Bull**** badges to feel proud of work you've put in to a "lower spec" model to turn it into what you want. IMHO if your kitted I6, V8 performs, let ppl know It's because of work you've done yourself by not putting fake badges on, let 'em know it's not factory but because of your own personal effort!

Your car mate, if you want to improve the looks of it then go for it. No one can tell you what to do with your ride.

And the Gt owners that are cracking a fit over guys doing Tuff luck. You have a boss290 these guys don't.
And if you really wanted an exclusive car you should of bought a Lambo or Ferarri. Out of your price range, well a GT is probally out of these young guys range as well......
Well said!

Who Gives a F what people do to thier own car with thier own money...

As long as people dont try to flog something for what it is not - that sucks and would damage the reputation of the variant.

Totaly agree, NO FPV badges.......

I couldn't think of anything worse than pulling up next to a real GT in a fake badged up GT. :

Hey, if it's just the look you want, go the mods and leave it De-badged. Nice clean look and keeps 'em guessing. De-badged my XR6T and never looked back.

You do to your car what makes you happy, if someone else is not happy well thats to bad, they will get over it. I have done the usual mods wheels, exhaust, suspension to my XR8 Ute, then i damaged my front bar then rear bar nothing to severe, whilst looking for second hand parts before buying new i found a wrecked FPV Pursuit and took the Leather interior etc. and a genuine new FPV Tornado Body Kit. both these items were at a price i couldnt refuse, when the kit goes on the ute will be de-badged and if anyone is to ask its MY XR8.
As for the people that get upset because they see someone driving a $20,000 BA XT Falcon with a GT Body kit and you have paid $70,000 for your GTP, well just take a thought that the $20,000 XT in there eyes probably is as close as they are going to get to a $70,000 GTP. Trust me i bought my XR GT Replica thinking i would never be able to buy a original one then i was very lucky one day

I said no, as I wouldn't do it, I think that the XR6 is special enough without a gt kit. Others can do what they like.

NO NO NO NO!!!! if you want a GT buy a GT.

An XR6 with a GT body kit is like a bloke wearing a dress, it might deceive you at first, but on closer inspection it makes you sick.

Who dredged this up?

Talk about digging up the past

Since it has been ressurected.....Who gives a crap!

It's a friggin' body kit for cryin' out loud. As long as the stripes and badges aren't there it really is only a body kit. Enough of the BS purist rubbish!

I saw a BA N/A6 for sale somewhere the other day, and it was in FULL BA GT mode.....stripes.....badges.....even the quad pipes. Now there's someone who should feel like a ****** when driving around.
