And only in America could you find a woman who could make you cringe that much during a pretty cool video.

not quite barn finds but paddock finds
we went there to look at the XY Wagon but it was too far gone so we are taking the XP as it only has a small amount of rust in 1 of the rear sills but none anywhere else apart from the surface rust, the 600hp 363w my brother is half way through building will go in the XP providing we don't find too many issues. i still want to grab a car but i know i have too much on my plate and not enough money. shame the split window combies are too far gone they are worth a fortune these days the capellas arn't worth anything, the W111 looked ok but still not worth anything and the boat transom was rotten but i like old school boats and a nice old 135hp evinrude would look amazing on that boat there was also a 40's paddock basher chassis complete with ford flathead v8. we already have taken an EJ wagon and Suzuki GS1000ST, i still have the bike in my collection the EJ was sold for parts

A remarkable story for sure!
But how does someone keep 500+ cars 'hidden' away for so long? Must have been a huge shed. That collection no doubt will bring in US$12M+ at Auction. I hope the old couple get to enjoy it.

Its great that the odd long time collection comes to the light
But the fact is persons whom collect and keep for so long must be cash friendly to be able to either afford or keep without ever needing to sell of to help ends meet... Most of us cant afford more than either a clunker to slave over for years or a newie that's replaced every few years Noone has a crystal ball to see that far in the future,if it wasn't for recent collectability of oldies , or the muscle boom ,they wouldn't be worth much more than scrap .... Theres no way id buy a new car and pray like hell itll be viable to park up for 50 years and return a nice little nest egg Very risky ,no doubt considering they dropped value once left the lot Should have been unearthed few years ago when people were paying better money... |

I dragged a VW 1500 notchback out of the bush a few weeks ago. Sitting for 25 years. got it running in under 10 min and now going to be shipped to America as VW never sold notchback type 3's there.

The notch was free, $120 for a tow, a bit of juice going to pull the car out, and $3k is the price. And had fun along the way.

One of my customers/ friend has a mechanical workshop on the coast here. Being in the trade he has a happy knack of picking up bargains. I call it "Kissed on the D##k" He has a lovely XY GT Lookalike ute, XP Coupe, FB ute among a lot of other cars. He picked up a 69 mustang convertible, fully reg and driveable for $16,000 a couple of months back but his latest pick up makes me want to cry. One of his customers has offered his mum's old car which she had owned from new. 1971 KCode Fairmont, Gold in color 351 T-Bar Auto, bucket seats GS Dash and features all factory ordered. No rust, been stored in a shed for 26 years. Been started regularly, but not driven, so driveline and bearings, brakes etc will need attention. He is picking it up over Easter. The price you may well ask ??? $800.00 That's right, not $8000.00 .........................$800.00 I so hate him !!! I'll get pictures of it shortly...........
